No. They are also offering to download other apps. Some examples:

Spotify:

itch.io:

Brave browser:

I know Epic is cool to hate but they seem to be okay with DRM free. I guess Rage 2 and Days gone are drm free on epic.

Good for them. DRM-free for me is Gog and only Gog.

I think they know that We like`em, and it`s right to buy drm-free games on Epic from Gog, ...maybe it`s even a good idea to be able to buy Epic ->drm-free<- games within Galaxy shop one day.

Well... just bought Galaxy on Epic and it`s in my library
https://www.epicgames.com/account/transactions?lang=en&productName=epicgames
it is one of the Epic games! let me guess... Unreal Engine 5? : )

Connecting account... yes, it still needs Epic Launcher which I`m not using like any other launcher...
Galaxy is a different thing, it`s a management tool with tools and not a launcher...

So I am waiting for a situation where I could buy/run Epic games, drm-free on Galaxy, and then play it offline installers in a cozy playhole.... and...that would never happen.

What is more Epic store is rewarding people for projecting their attention to GOG Galaxy, with a game.
I know that this must be Gog.com initiative but the message is there.

https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/browse?q=Galaxy&sortBy=relevancy&sortDir=DESC&count=40
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/gog-galaxy

Today`s Giveaway of Genesis Alpha One Deluxe Edition is:
"Claim 2 free games as a time-limited welcome gift
Download GOG GALAXY now and get Genesis Alpha One Deluxe Edition on GOG for free
– the offer is valid till October 30th, 6 AM PDT / 9 AM EDT / 1 PM UTC. Next, grab for free Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Collection on GOG between October 31st at 6 AM PDT / 9 AM EDT / 1 PM UTC and November 3rd, 6 AM PDT / 9 AM EDT / 1 PM UTC."

I don`t know what to say... Epic started to... Support Gog.com!
...and how they did that? the Gog way! Don't have to download either Galaxy or Epic Launcher to claim a game!
Some people would not even realize what has happened, while some people here should feel like real winners, while this is for the survival of our portal.
Epic+1 from me, not for launcher or drmed free games, but for the approach, for hope, for Unreal Engine engine, for Unreal Tournament, and the ability to achieve things together. Now that`s Epic... the Gog.com way ^

Got to speak for yourself there, this one's opinion towards Tim Swiney's Exclusivity Boutique hasn't changed one bit, and in fact shifted even more into Negative Red on the affection meter with their publically announced stance on NFT and block chain bullshit.
Fuck Timmy and fuck his bullshit-peddling platform.
Wouldn't the plethora of Unreal and other Epic games here on Gog have already implied that they were friendly with each other?

The irony of this is staggering.

Eh, on the flipside I got something to the tune of 200 games from Epic, about 40% of which was stuff I would have been tempted to spend actual money on and have yet to pay a single cent. Epic Store is like having all the upsides of piracy (free stuff!) with none of the downsides (it's illegal, lol!). Last I heard, Epic made a yearly loss of roughly half a billion dollars. Half a billion dollars buys a lot of hookers and booze, so I for one truly appreciate Mr Sweeney's sacrifice here to give us free games and his commitment to making Valve fanbois really butthurt by giving them a taste of their own medicine.

PS: NFTs are such an obvious scam that any gullible fool falling for this shit is so certifiably dumb he deserves to be taken advantage of. He has no one to blame but himself.

I mean, I'm not OK with Epic and GOG cooperating for store-related things, but I think I'm mostly indifferent to this development as long as no EGS garbage gets added to GOG. If I want to download Galaxy, I'll download it directly from GOG like a normal human being. Downloading any standalone application through another launcher is just pointless, IMO.

Epic only allows companies to host their applications/storefronts on EGS because Tim Sweeney wants free hosting/advertising on other storefronts instead of paying the storefront developers for their work/marketing/infrastructure like literally everyone else. Sweeney seems to have this delusion that EGS allowing other companies to put their stores somehow sets a legal precedent that he can point to as a reason why he should be able to force other companies to host/advertise EGS at no cost. So this may be temporary anyway until Tim decides that he has lost enough lawsuits and that it's not longer worth it to host other stores on EGS.

Alright, here's the plan: first you log in to Microsoft Store, then you log in to Epic Games Store, then you log in to GOG Galaxy, then you log in to Steam, then you log in to Battle.Net and launch... Call of Duty Modern Warfare II (2022)!

Well, I meant "log in inside one another", so I don't know how to include Uplay (and Origin) here.
