Hi, I just downloaded the Galaxy Client from the website and installed it but it just doesn't save most of the settings I change. I researched a bit and found another case with an older client version that was never resolved, but that also had the problem of losing the login information every time the software was started which is not the case for me.

The only settings that are saved are the checkboxes and the language, but startup page and install folders (I'm especially interested in the latter) are not. They are reset to default after a restart of the client.

I attached a picture of my settings window for you to take a look at, most of the features are disabled, which I find confusing. I thought features like Achievements and Auto-Updating were long implemented?

The changes I make are not saved in the Registry either, I actually tried editing those manually but that had no effect whatsoever.

the First time it is minimized to tray I get a wonky message with Asian characters that I can't read, no idea if that has any meaning to this problem.

If anyone knows a solution to this problem it'd be much appreciated. If more information are needed, I'll try to provide those.

Galaxy version: 1.1.10.47
Windows 7 Professional x64

I also tested it on a Windows 10 Pro x64 Virtual Machine, same problem.

All the settings are saved in windows registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com\GalaxyClient\settings
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com\Galaxy\settings

Make sure you have administrator rights or at least permission to change registry.
Also check https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_galaxy_beta_2/ thread, especially last two pages. If nothing help, report problem at http://mantis.gog.com/ with logs.
Okay thanks for your help, I got it to work at last, though I don't like the solution too much ;D

First of all:
The second registry key is in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GOG.com\Galaxy\settings, not the WowNode, that had me confused there for a while xD
But those settings were already working fine for me, my problem was with the LOCAL_MACHINE key.

And here's how I solved it:
I have a local user on the computer that is member of the administrators group, this group has full access to the keys stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com\GalaxyClient\settings. Except that's not enough.
I gave my user specifically full access permissions to the GOG.com tree (and that's why I don't like it, I mean that's what groups are for). Anyway, this fixed it for me and maybe it'll help some other people as well. Computer restart may be required.

I'll try to report this on mantis if I find the time :)

Hi!
Just to report that this also worked for me, on Win 8.1.
I also needed to add permissions to the user for the GOG.com tree under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\.

Thanks for your help :D!
