Try the DRM-free online gaming platform.

GOG Galaxy: our truly gamer-friendly, DRM-free online gaming platform. As we shared our vision with the world, we promised auto-patching, social functionality like chat, friends lists, and achievements. We promised our own multiplayer support and cross-play with Steam. Most importantly, we promised truly optional.

Today we deliver.
The GOG Galaxy client enters beta, open to anyone, with the most important functionality ready to try, test, enjoy (and break) at your leisure. We're proud to have gotten this far, and we know that we couldn't have done it without you all - that's everyone who spent months in alpha testing, that's those of you who talked to us about your needs and expectations, and it's every single one of you that has supported us since ever. So thanks, GOG Galaxy is for you!

With the GOG Galaxy Beta, you can install your games in one click and keep them up to date automatically, the beta currently supports this feature in all but a couple of titles available here. You can also perform backups easily by downloading a standalone installer through GOG Galaxy. The beta features a friends list, game time tracking, achievements, and chat. You can now talk to each other, connect with your group of friends, and see what everyone is playing. You can also try out our online multiplayer & matchmaking solution that, in select titles, includes cross-play: platform-independent multiplayer between gamers on GOG.com and Steam. If you download a patch that breaks something or if you just change your mind, the app will soon feature a unique rollback option to restore a previous version of your game.

Best of all, GOG Galaxy is optional. If you don't want to use any additional software, your experience with us won't change at all. If you only want to take advantage of select conveniences, you can toggle them on and off. It's all totally up to you.

You can sign up for the GOG Galaxy Beta and find out more on gog.com/galaxy, where we tell you about the features and answer many of the questions you may have. We'll be watching the forums carefully, so feel free to leave a comment if there is anything else that you'd like to know!

green.anger: Hi, guys! Does anyone know how to manually add an installed game? I've setup folders for installed and downloaded games, run folder scan and Galaxy found only 1/4 of all installed games. And I cannot find a way to add another one. By the way, can one add a game for which only distributive has been downloaded (prior to Galaxy installation)? Thanks in advance!
avatar
JudasIscariot: It depends on how long ago you downloaded an installer as we're updating our installers to be more import-friendly via Galaxy so if manually adding a GOG game doesn't work, you may need to re-download an installer or two.
Ok, got it. Can I re-download an installer from within Galaxy without actually installing the game afterwards? I see option "Install from library", already tried it, worked for me, but there is no option "Download installer". Is it possible?
Hope an account profile page is set up soon to showcase that playtime and achievements they plan on adding soon other than that handy little client so far! :)
It would be nice if I could instal the client where I want. If I instal it anywhere other than the default path the client will not launch and error says it's missing things and to reinstall.

In an unrelated note I can not access the gog general forums at all (Error code 500)

skidpro: ok I see no way of adding steam friends so how do we get to know gog friends? is there a profile list or info we can see before adding gog friends or is it just blindly inviting?
Hi,

Just to let you know that I also noticed that earlier and posted an issue in the issue tracker for this.

tfishell: Does that mean http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy/bandwidth_limit is technically completed? If so, you might let people know how they can limit their bandwidth as a comment in that wish.
avatar
Destro: That's not technically speaking a good way to limit download speed. It can work for some, but for example on 1 connection I can pull 26-27 MB/s - which is still my entire bandwidth anyway. It's more of a techie paramter that can help with cases where game has a lot of tiny files or when, for whatever reason, a single connection doesn't max out your download speed.
Fair enough; are you working on a better way to limit bandwidth/download speed?

Yes, you can. Click on the gray button next to the "Install" button and look for "Extras", once you click the Extras button you'll see your bonus goodies on the right and the offline installer link on the left :)
Got a quick question, how do I download the installers for my games??
How does one change their chat status? I noticed Jamyskis' status was "Playing - Anachronox", not "online" or "offline". (Or is it just automatic detection based on which game you play through Galaxy?)

"More" > Download Extras > Game Installer

Is there any way to download installers with Galaxy for later use?

Yes. Click on the game you want, then "More", then "Download Extras", and the downloaders along with the extras should now become visible.

OK. Thank you very much.

I guess they should rename it to simply "Downloads" then.

Also KotoR2 keeps wanting to update although I stopped the updating and disabled auto-updating. Still when I start another update the auto update of KotoR2 starts again which I don't want. Then there is another download scheduled which I want to have, but not starting.

It seems like the system got a hickup and doesn't know how to continue.

Now it's working...
