== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Yeah it's stuck at 99.9% with 1mb to go, but says it's downloading at 0.4MB/S
But doesn't progress from 1mb to go....

Venom: We've released Galaxy 1.0.2, with a couple of new features:
- localisation: you can now change the language to english, german, french and russian
- games change logs are now available on the game view (for selected games only)
- you can now access not compatible games from library, so you will always be able to download backup installers and extras
- self update improvements and bug fixes
- various minor bug fixes

We might push another small update today or tomorrow, as we need to squash one more minor bug that might affect users who are not logged in.
Thanks for the new update and for all your hard work guys! Looking forward to testing out the new build!

Arsenki: I usually make a back up of my GOG games download on a remote on USB keys. However one of my key was recently damaged and I decided to download some games from my libraries again.

I tried to use the Galaxy Client v 1.0.2.958, but I can't find a way to queue several games at once for download during the night. Once I have launched a download (with the get backup option) and try to add another one, the Galaxy client feel very slow and unresponsive, while the waiting icon keep turning.

In the end I used the old GOG downloader which easily allow to queue multiple download.

I wonder if it was as the Galaxy client is supposed to work (for now) or if it an issue?
Just go to one game's page, start downloading it, then go back to the library and to another game's page and start downloading it too, keep doing that until you have initiated all of them. Click on the bottom left circular icon with a down arrow and you'll see all of the items you queued with one of them downloading and the rest waiting.

Indeed, I voted for it although I'd rarely ever use it likely but I know it is crucial for many...

+2618 Pause Download Capability 78 comments in progress

The bold part above shows that they're already working on it though so people can calm down and have some dip. :)

Brandon23z: I have that problem too. The other day, I was showing my friend GTA V on PC, and he said it looked great, but it lagged too much. I thought it was a bad update or something, turns out I left Galaxy running in the background. It made the game lag like crazy. I closed out of it, everything started running smooth again.

It's just something to deal with when playing games. If you're playing a Steam game, close Origin, uPlay, GOG Galaxy, everything except Steam. Do that for every game you play. Same for a GOG game, close everything non Galaxy. Not just the window, fully close it out.
I used to have that sort of problem back when I was using a single-core 2.8GHz P4 Northwood with Windows XP and 2GB of RAM, so I kept background apps to the bare minimum as lots of software install systray apps even though they're not really needed half the time - especially the habit of some apps installing "Quickstart" tasks which basically start the app fully at WIndows startup to gobble RAM so when you go to use it it's already loaded but it ends up slowing your entire system down when 50 apps all do that. :)

I found another solution to the problem that works better for me now though - I bought an 8-core processor with 32GB of RAM. Now if there are 5000 apps in my systray.... don't care.... :)

Mullon: When I'm importing games that I had downloaded and installed previously, Galaxy's not installing them again is it? Because I'd hate to waste space on redundant games.
Whenever you import a game with Galaxy, it scans the game's files and connects to GOG to compare what you have on disk with the master copy to install the Galaxy metadata files if they're missing and to ensure the game's integrity and if auto-updates are enabled to auto-update it. You can disable auto-updates after the initial check, but there is no way yet to disable it from doing the initial integrity scan/sync to the Galaxy servers. There have been some bugs/glitches in this process with some games as well which has on some occasions caused it to re-download the entire game. If it does that, it's more or less a known bug that they're working on fixing if they haven't already. So beware that doing imports can cause unexpected Internet bandwidth usage that may not be desired. If that happens and is problematic at all, it's probably best to not use Galaxy until the issues are resolved though. Hope this helps.
I am just testing it and it feels still "empty". But I have a good feeling about it for the future. Could be a great (DRM-free) alternative to Steam. Good work! :)

Could you make a closed thread, or a post and link it in OP, and update it with all the patch info?
(Date (time), version number and what changed).
Maybe add a patch notes/change log in the client itself?

Has been like this for 2 days now..
Any ideas?

vazagothic: I have the EXACT problem with downloading Witcher 3. After initial burst download it's been stuck on 99.x% - and has been extremely slowly downloading the remaining 1% (< 100MB).

Suffice to say that I've managed to re-download over 5.5GB of Witcher 3 using the Downloader while the GOG Galaxy managed to download measly 10MB or so.
Well i just tried to download the Prophecy setup file from GoG, but the installer reports that it's corrupt and to download a new copy of the program..
Sigh

Yeah, the best would be a popup dialog with the changelog in it on first-run when Galaxy updates itself, much like the Steam client beta does. They just give a very brief list of the most important user-visible changes in that, but also have a collapseable back history of prior releases there as well. Something similar would be a great addition to Galaxy client but not a major priority at the moment as there are much more critical core features that need to be added or bug-proofed, but I hope to see an in-client Changelog dated and versioned sometime.

Mine's progressing .. slowly, to say the least.

Update to my original photo:
Original post:
GOG Galaxy: 99.9% (21MB left)
GOG Downloader: 5.12GB of 21.95GB

As of now:
GOG Galaxy: 100% (2.1MB left)
GOG Downloader: done

So, in the time it took the GOG Downloader to download 15GB+ of data, the GOG Galaxy managed to download .. whooping 18MB.

Not good, not good ..

I'm able to max out my Internet connection consistently downloading with Galaxy (3.3MB/s) so it could be limitations on certain servers in their delivery network perhaps. Note that the servers that host the data for Galaxy are completely different from those that host the data for the website and GOG Downloader. Also, just a technical curiousity, are you on cable or DSL, and what speed is your Internet plan?

I'm on a DSL, speed was supposed to be 20Mbit/s, but I'm getting less than that and maxing my connection at about 1.1MB/s.

I don't know what's the problem as 99% of the Witcher 3 downloaded while maxing my connection, but the remaining 1% just drips down averaging about 1700 bytes/s (yes, BYTES).

My computer's been up and running for the past 12 hours and GOG Galaxy managed to download 70MB of data (started at 75MB left and now sits at about 2.1MB left).

In the meantime I downloaded 22GB+ of data using the GOG Downloader.

Reason for post edit: spelling mistakes and context clarification.

Sounds similar to what some other people have reported too although I've yet to experience that myself. Hopefully they can co-relate data on the problems though. You might want to file a bug report in Mantis and attach your Galaxy client logs and indicate what the approximate timeframe was for your download and when it slowed down. The logs might possibly have errors or clues in them to help them determine the problem, and if not they can look at their server logs at least. Hope this helps.

BUT, i got it to download by using the GoG downloader, and then Galaxy saw that the files were there... so all good now..?

I have a question about the client. I installed by the default location and download a game, it installed to C:\GOG games\ library. The path - if I not missed - can't changed or modified. I install the client to D:\Games\ library, since I had a bigger HD and wish to install games to that drive. However now Galaxy says missing some crucial component to run, which not installed, reinstall the app.

I miss something or the current state of the client this issues are normal?

Ok, I'm test-downloading the standalone installer for Wing Commander Prophecy through Galaxy right now...

Yup, you're missing something. Go into settings and you can configure 3 different directories in there. It seems that enough people are unable to find that right away though that GOG should reconsider both the size of the gear icon and the location of it within the client as it is kind of small and it seems that every day new users are not noticing it. I'd personally double the size of the gear icon and put it on the very top of the black sidebar instead of the bottom. I might even consider quadrupling the size of it for beta. :)

Ok, seems I'm able to download Wing Commander Prophecy maxed out at 3.3MB/s. Seems GOG is having CDN issues around the world here and there, but not in Canada. :) Screenshot attached...
