Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Question in last two paragraphs.
Hi, currently I am having exams so I havent been able to check the new new client and its also the fact that I a maffraid of not being able to give any good critisicm and just wasting everybodys time. Still there is one thing I want to know regarding galaxy and achievments.
I am an achievment hunter its very important for me since it increases a games longelivety. Problem is in certain other game clients you sometimes need to buy a games dlc to maange to get 100% on achievs. Often I dont have this opportunity, beacuse of financial means or others.

My question is can I manage to get 100% on achievments without buying dlc in case the game has some dlc with achievments?
Or in other words will the main games and dlcs achievments be seperate?

It wont start anymore. I installed it and it was working fine at first, I installed a few games and it was good.
Then I closed it and it won't open. An error message comes up saying "Essential components needed to start GOG Galaxy are missing. Please reinstall the application." I uninstall then reinstall and the same message comes up. I've tried this several times. I've also redownloaded the installer and tried again but it still has the same error. I install it in the initial install folder. What do I do?
Well, i don't know if this problem has already been discussed or not, but i've redownloaded some of the stuffs i have, in particular my D&D collections. It seems weird that every odd numbered games i've downloaded would work just fine, but every even numbered ones does not run when you click the play. For example, i got a queue of Neverwinter Nights 2, Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition, Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition, in that order. The Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition won't run when you click the play button, same with Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition. But if i queue (which i did btw) Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition after Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition, that game can run now. And yes, i've finished downloaded the game already, i can run the executionable file just fine and it will run the game, just not through GOG Galaxy.

The most problematic is Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition, it still doesn't run through GOG Galaxy no matter what numbered downloads i did for that game. I can click the play and it shows on my library that the game has been played a few seconds ago, but nothing popped up. If i run the execuionable directly, it'll run fine and dandy, but that kinda defeats the purpose of GOG Galaxy at least i think.

PS: Why the high memory usage for the helper program for GOG Galaxy? i've noticed it went to like ~170 MB on top of the GOG Galaxy process itself... which can go to ~60-70MB.
I keep getting the "Unread Messages" notification under Chat with Friends despite not having any friend on the list. Clicking on it also doens't show me anything(Mac).
Hmmm... I can't seem to find Alone In The Dark 2 and 3 after installing the game through Galaxy. Only the first one. The sequels aren't even in the extras folder. Have I missed something? :)
Is this already available and how does this work? I just have the big blue "install"-button for each game. How can I backup my games and extras without the actual install-step or prevent the installation?

"Backup copy download
Want to backup your purchases? We get it. For all games, you can download a DRM-free backup installer that you can save to an external disk, drive or cloud."

Click on the game or library page of the game, then MORE -> Download Extra's...
Is anyone else not having updates for the games download in Galaxy?
Sorry for this irrelavent post, just posting first time so friends can add me on Galaxy
I can't install games with the galaxy 1.0.1.912 Mac OS. "Out of disk space" but I have 40 GB free and I want to install a 0.5 GB game...

Ah ok, so the installer on the left side is the backup installer what they mean? Was not so clear to me. So I can download this without install? =)

Yea on the download extra's page under the title game... that is the standard installer like you get from GOG (can be installed at anytime or just kept as a backup), which are in the process of being set up for Galaxy, but as always you don't need Galaxy at all. If you install it with the standalone installer it may or may not automatically show up in Galaxy.

In which case follow step 1 or 2:

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the "+" button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.
Please be aware that Client will accept any folder pointed to and will overwrite files inside it (this can for example wipe some mods or damage other apps in case of pointing to a wrong folder) and will update the game to the newest version (current default language English).

BKGaming:
Many thanks =)
I'm having fun messing around with the client! It's nice and clean, not clunky. Smoothly loads games. Only minor issue I've really come across is that it's not logging any of the time spent playing my games. I've only tried four games (Bad Mojo, Witcher Adventure Game, Sam & Max Hit The Road, Saints Row 2) so it could be that they're not adjusted for this, either. Keep up the great work. I've really only come around to the forums a handful of times, especially during last year's insane spring insomnia sale, where somebody tried to bite my head off for allowing friends to play copies of a game until they or I could buy them a copy. It was fun!

Reading through some of these posts, I agree that if you click on someone's name on here, you should be able to see a sort of "user history on gog.com," so you don't just approve of some weirdo who's just going to pester you for game codes or wants to inflate their friends list for no reason, or for bad reasons. Steam has had an uptick of obvious Russian bot accounts that end up destroying people who add them occasionally, and they generally are level 1 or 2 users. If you're a regular Steam user, that would likely not be the case just based on time spent and games purchased.

Holy shit I rambled. Long day at work. Finishing this, more work, then off to see Mad Max Fury Road. Thanks again gog.com for years of fun that I've had on a low budget, I look forward to being more involved on here!

- UI is currently available in English only but occasional quirks may happen where “download extras” list is displayed in another language
- option to change currency and some other settings aren’t yet accessible in the Galaxy
