== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

After uninstall from D: and installing it on C: I keep getting the Message Essential components are missing, please reinstall. I keep getting this message everytime I reinstall it. Now I cant use GOG Galaxy at all.
Hello everybody,

I have two questions:

1. How can I INSTALL a galaxy compatible game installer, which I have manually downloaded from the website, in the galaxy client. (not add an installed game to galaxy)?

2. Do I have to redownload all my old installers, that are not automatically recognized by galaxy, or is there different method (planned ?) to make them galaxy compatible?

Best regards
simon
Question to GOG: Is there any way we can tell in advance whether a game's standalone installers have been updated on the main website download links and for GOG Downloader to be compatible with Galaxy? I am wanting to re-download my entire library to get all updates that I may have missed over time, plus ensure all my games have the Galaxy metadata files present, ensure I have all of the bonus goodies etc. but it's going to take months to do this and I'd prefer to know in advance if a game has been Galaxy updated and skip it until it is updated if possible. I'm currently redownloading some of the smaller games using GOG Downloader the old way, but have no way to know if they support Galaxy or not until I install them and have Galaxy do a scan which doesn't scale well to 432 games. :)

#1: At the moment, you can't. Hopefully they add that ability to install from an already downloaded archive in the future though, that's what I want also.

#2: To have the smoothest possible experience you'll need to redownload them, but some games are not yet updated and I'm still trying to figure out if there's a way to tell which is which myself. :) They have mentioned that they intend to try to improve Galaxy to detect games better eventually too, so this will get better over time but right now it's rough around the edges understandably since it is a beta. :)

arcusc: So far GOG Galaxy is a huge disappointment. It only recognises four of my games and so that means I have to manually point it in the direction of my other 175 games one by one. Fine, I thought I'd at least try on a couple of games, but there's no menu option for that. It basically wants me to redownload and reinstall every single game but the last four. No way!

Since I visit GOG.com daily anyway I'll just update manually when needed. I just wish we could keep the GOG downloader, which actually works these days.

Hopefully all of this will be ironed out before the proper release of GOG Galaxy, but seems the "automatic recognition of previously installed games" won't be a feature, which means I'm out. :(
If you mean by no menu option that you can't manually tell it where your game is installed and have it update it you can, as it says in the 1st post, you just click on the game in your library, go to more manage and import folder. I just did it for 10 or so games, it is slow and annoying but it can be done. (note you have to click on each individual game in your library you want to do, don't click the drop down arrow on the games tile in the library, why have two different menus for each game? I have no idea.

I'll drag it out over a few months likely so as to not abuse my Internet bandwidth cap for the month, although my ISP doesn't enforce their caps nor charge extra if you go over unless you're particularly egregious in which case they might give you a polite phone call, but I'm a good customer so I try to stay within their soft limits. :) Technically though I could probably download all my games and extras in a matter of 3-4 days or so going 24 hours a day full blast. Would need to grab a calculator to figure that out though. :)

Thanks, I thought it would be in the drop down menu. That makes it even more cumbersome. I really don't see the point in GOG Galaxy if it can't even recognise previously installed games. If Raptr can do it, surely GOG.com should be able to implement that in their own software.

Certainly, and they've indicated they plan to do more or less just that in the future also. This is a beta, but it is not a feature-complete beta or release candidate so be patient. :)
Not a bug so won't report on mantis but DLC Goodies don't show up on the "Download Extras" page, for instance Divinity: Original Sin doesn't have a separate download link (I assume it does automatically download it though?) or DLC Goodies section for Source Hunter DLC in Galaxy like it does on the website.
Hi there,
Why Penumbra: Requiem is not available through the GOG Galaxy client? When achievements will be added?
avatar
czoperrr: Hi there,
Why Penumbra: Requiem is not available through the GOG Galaxy client? When achievements will be added?
GOG doesn't add achievements to games themselves, the publisher of the game has the option of adding Galaxy achievement support to their game(s) if they wish to do so. You'd have to contact the publisher of Penumbra Requiem (or whatever other game) to let them know that you'd like them to support Galaxy achievements, and wait to hear back what they say. Achievements are a function embedded within a game, not something tacked on outside of a game by something like Galaxy client. Clients just display the achievements one has got but without a game having code inside the game that is aware of achievements and connects to Galaxy to tell it you achieved something - it just doesn't happen.
I had problems with queued games with downloading. I started to download my whole library last night and still doing it. System Shock 2 informed "Not Authorized" and many games was corrupted. I also did some bankstuff with my PC and firewall messed up downloading. Now I'm repairing and verifying.

Achievements was the other question. The question related to the Penumbra is why it's not available to download through the client. Penumbra Overture and Black Plague are but Requiem is not.

Yup, I only answered the second question, I don't know the answer to the first question although I can confirm that it shows up in Galaxy but is not downloadable though and says "Not Yet Available" in red.

(saw your first question was answered)

I also wish for the downloader to stay, although downloading the installers as extras inside galaxy is close.
