== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

I have to say im very disappointed at Galaxy. I know this is a beta but this is buggier then Origin for me.

Either i have to constantly uninstall and reinstall because for some reason I keep getting the "essential component needed to start gog galaxy are missing" and when i do manage to start up Galaxy it refuses to download any game.
I'm glad this client exists, it is a welcome addition to the GOG World. :-)
I am enjoying the beta

I hope to see more
Any chance we will get galaxy update before The Witcher 3 release? like in-game Galaxy overlay?
avatar
blotunga: It doesn't shows up, because I'm under linux right now.. Probably that's why...
avatar
FiatLux: Yup , text below blue button says : "GOG Galaxy Client requires Windows 7 or newer"
Ah ha! I hadn't even noticed this. Maybe that's why I was having game issues. Good old Vista. Oh well. Guess I can stop being concerned with Galaxy now!
Why on earth is the Galaxy Client Helper executable taking up almost 400MB of RAM!?

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1sGNaZdRxueLUZzWVI0OGNzQlE/view?usp=sharing

Notice that GalaxyClient.exe is only using about 40MB.

I'll dump the Client helper log into this link to see if you guys can notice anything weird...

* fixed notifications
* ability to pause downloads

first.

MorningStar33: Anyone else gets "disk access problem" error?

Frist I got it when when I was importing folders of some already installed games. I just installed those games from scratch and everything went fine, so I didn't give it much thought.

But now I get it when I just try to download extras. For instance, Another World game files.
And I know it's not problem with my HDD because I tried it with 2 different disks.

Edit: There seems to be a conflict Avast. I've disabled it and now Galaxy seems to work fine. Anyone else using Avast can confirm this?
avatar
Windom: Hi I'm using Avast and I've got this too. Repeated retries somehow solved this.
Yeah, this is confirmed problem. It's not only Avast, bug happens with Comodo too:
http://mantis.gog.com/view.php?id=1984

I hope they'll do something about it.

What issues if I may ask? I have been using Vista 64bit since the alpha started with very few issues and nothing to serious has occurred even now in beta...
Why the option for "Import Folder" isn't working properly ?

I downloaded The Witcher 3 using GoG Downloader (because GoG Galaxy just downloads at 0.2 MB/s max) but when I try to import its folder into Galaxy, the Galaxy just keeps redownloading the game (at that same 0.2 MB/s max), as if the game wasn't downloaded at all.

Yes, I pointed out to Galaxy application the correct folder where TW3 was downloaded (D:\GOG.com\GOG.com Downloads\the_witcher_3_wild_hunt). The files within this folder are:

setup_the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_2.0.0.28 (25 MB)
setup_the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_2.0.0.28-1 (4 GB)
setup_the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_2.0.0.28-2 (4 GB)
setup_the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_2.0.0.28-3 (4 GB)
setup_the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_2.0.0.28-4 (4 GB)
setup_the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_2.0.0.28-5 (4 GB)
setup_the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_2.0.0.28-6 (2.4 GB)
the_witcher_3_avatars (4 MB)

Because you can only import installed games, not installer files.
Is it a known issue that Galaxy download at such low speeds? I'm using GOG downloader now and getting maximum download speed.

Well, I only tried two games with it: Banished and Mount & Blade. M&B wouldn't download properly (multiple tries); the only way I got it to run was by installing it the old way first. And then when I did play it... well, I admit I was a bit buzzed, but it just seemed as if the performance was way off. And it wasn't keeping track of game time (I'm assuming that's what those little clocks are for). So ok, maybe nothing major, but I decided to uninstall it because I'd rather give it some time for more kinks to get out. I have 32-bit, and I can't say it didn't work, it just wasn't at the point where I'd want to use it yet.

edit: Oh, and the slowness compared to the old downloader - though I have to say, the new "direct" download (not Galaxy) seems even quicker than the old downloader.

It's not recording played time properly, or rather at all. I installed Witcher 2 using it, i've now played for over 20hours, and all it's saying is 2minutes.

Edit: Okay i found out what's causing this, or atleast the problem. If you launch the game from it's desktop icon (The Witcher 2 - Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition) for example, Galaxy dosen't see the game as launching and thus dosen't record it as launched or your play time. And i'm guessing dosen't track your achievements either.

However if you launch the game directly through Galaxy, it dose pick it up. Something wrong there IMO

M&B Warband? That is currently broke in Galaxy, won't install. If you mean the original... I have both it and Banished installed without issue.
