== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

taltamir: 1. Galaxy absolutely needs to have an option to NOT run automatically on startup. Between steam, origin, desura, and impulse there are too many of them to let them all run all the time. I manually run steam when I want to play a steam game/update. I should manually be able to do that with galaxy
2. Galaxy should let you download an installer for backup.
3. Galaxy needs some debugging
1 You can on settings/General/ first option.
2 They said you can, but I haven´t seen it yet
Using XP is a huge security risk as it doesn't get security updates any more. Why should GOG support a 14 year old, insecure operating system that it's own manufacturer doesn't support any more?

As far as I remember the installers are stored in the extras section but I am not sure.

taltamir: WindowsXP Is dead not because "microsoft said so", but because it really is dead.
Oh, I must have missed the magic time when all my old games that won't work on anything newer than XP suddenly did... :-)

You are missing the point of the discussion but since everything about this has already been said I guess there is no need to go on with it.

I can´t even see that folder, only the game installed.
Well, beta is beta, I´ll use gog downloader for the backups.

No, no, no. I meant if you chose to install a download from library you can go into the extras and chose the installer of the game on the same page. But as I said I am not sure about this. I could check my WIn7 (hooray;)) partition where Galaxy iy still living to check it.

Sry if this has been mentioned before:
At the end of the Import of my pre galaxy Witcher 2 folder my programs were closed and the system rebooted without aksing for permission (Win7, 64 Bit). Would be great if you could implement a question before galaxy does it on its own.
avatar
S4MUR4I: I've downloaded The Witcher 1 using gog.com.downloader and gog galaxy can't detect it. Please advise and A BIG THANK YOU! YOU'RE AWESOME! IT'S THE HYPE!
GOG Galaxy can't detect it but it can import the game using the import option through the library. After that however my Witcher 1 has two registry entrys and in my software folder in windows is mentioned two times. I filed a report and it was disregarded because I am using Windows XP. You can try if the problem persists in Win7. I could try as well but I have given up for Galaxy at the moment.
avatar
MarkoH01: O.K., I am now finally out. Support just told me that Galaxy does not support Windows XP and so they disregarded my bug report. I've tested for hours, destroyed some of my installations and wrote a bug report to get THAT reply? Hell, even Steam does support Win XP and several games still support Win XP. I hope you guys had fun with all the work you did on Galaxy but obviously you don't want me to be part of it. The optional client is so optional that you only can use it if you use a special OS - no thanks! Please kill me of your beta testing list and take the Client from my library which now also looks like shit but that is a different story. Oh boy, I was so in love with GOG but what you guys are doing at the moment - not funny at all! Bye Galaxy!
avatar
odomi2: Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft itself. It´s pointless to develop a new program for a dead OS.
I understand those of you who don´t want to leave it, but you don´t have any reason to complain about developers not considering it anymore.
Sorry to bother you again. But I just found out about something which I find quite amusing. We all know now that Galaxy is not officially supporting WinXP (which is old and dead and dangerous - yeah, I got it). But who can explain me what is written in the opening post?

"Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows Vista or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs "

Now I am laughing pretty loud, sorry guys, but Galaxy does not support XP but still stores its log in a specific folder? I don't think you have been thinking this through.

Would it be better if instead we artificially blocked people from launching it on XP (even though it's perfectly possible)? Or making it forbidden to report to us any bugs from XP machines would be better... because "principles"? ;)

We're openly saying that we don't support development of the Client with XP in mind, so that you are aware if even it works for you somehow (it only works in XP SP3 32bit and has some issues on Vista), it might stop working in a few updates. If you however insist on trying to launch it in on any of these platforms and succeed, then have fun with it and we're happy to hear your feedback as well.
