== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

tostaszewicz: Store Page Link for Prehistoric, Prehistoric 2 and Duke Nuke doesn't work. For Prehistoric, Prehistoric 2 I get only loading indicator (line moving in circle), but nothing happens after that. For Duke Nukem it gets me to page which lists all GOG store games.
The Elder Scrolls forum links take you back to general discussion and not the elder scrolls forum. We probably need to start a list of non working links.

EDIT: Their store links are broken too.

EDIT: Created a thread for this. I think that would be better than trying to use mantis which would end up with probably a lot of reports and no way to organize a list.

Public profiles they sound great, isn't it? I hope that they will come.
Hey, GOG, logo images of my games appear rather blurred. I think this wasn't an issue in the earlier version, because I've only noticed it today after the update.

Kayserna: Also, one additional screenshot of where it says the malware is. I'm sure you're right that it's a false positive, but by nature I'm extremely wary of ignoring warnings like that. Maybe knowing what it thinks is suspicious will help you figure out why it's suddenly causing my anti-virus to do this when it's never done it in the past.
He already told you why, heuristic scanning as algorithmic and can trigger false positives. You may have personally never experienced it before but it happens to people all the time with all antivirus software packages, and it will always continue to happen in the future as well. If you're paranoid about the file and trust your anti-virus software more than a GOG employee directly telling you that the file is not infected, then by all means don't install it if it makes you feel safer, however to properly handle the situation and that is to submit the file in question to your antivirus vendor for analysis and file a support ticket with them. If you don't want to be bothered to do that, eventually someone else will encounter the same problem and hopefully someone will eventually report it to the anti-virus vendor so they can test and confirm the file is safe and add an exception to their database for it. Until then it will generate a false positive.

There is absolutely nothing GOG can do about this as their software is not infected and not doing anything that it shouldn't which should trigger it being seen as malware when it is not.

Liosan: Hi Kaysema,

we make sure our software is virus-free before shiping it :) What you're experiencing is a false-positive due to heuristic scanning. Antiviruses, when encountering unknown software (like the freshly released GOG Galaxy), will try to guess. Sometimes they guess correctly, most of the time they don't - they falsely report proper software as malware or viri. From the point of view of the antivirus creators this makes sense - it's better to have an irritating antivirus than a lenient one.

I assure you our software is scanned with antiviruses before releasing :) But stuff like this just happens.

Could you please send the file to us via email? I sent you address on chat. It should be small - I will verify it.

As images of games owned are shown in different places and with different styles, could you provide us with a screenshot showing the issue? Also would be great to know what's your OS and display resolution to make sure it's not related to specific DPI scaling / HiDPI display or whatnot :)
I'm trying to update it but apparently my anti-virus won't let me bypass the quarantine, as it refuses to let me update GOG Galaxy Client. Further, when I try to go to where it says the file is located I can't find it. The folder it is supposed to be located in is empty. I even tried to allow it to view hidden files and it still shows nothing.

Here is the screenshot.
I have Windows 7 and my display resolution is 1680x1050.
I finally managed to bypass by turning off my antivirus, but now when I look for the file that was supposedly causing the problem it's not there at all. There's nothing in the autoupdate folder where there used to be files.

Edit: No matter what I try, the file that was supposedly causing the problem is not visible. It wasn't visible when it was causing the problem either, which is why I was so completely confused as to what was going on. The subfolders in which it was supposedly located are no longer even visible.

Edit: Finally managed to find it. Oddly, now when I scan it with my antivirus it no longer says it's malware. This is exactly why I'm finding this so very confusing. Trying to update GOG was impossible with my antivirus on because it said the file was malware, but then when it is finally updated the file isn't considered malware.

I can confirm the issue on my end. We will check what is wrong with the images or displaying them (expanded list).

TomaszGOG: And... last but not least, we've greatly improved rendering of fonts on Windows:)
Yass! It looks great and smooth now!

moonshineshadow: Did I miss some setting or is the viewing of friends playtime and achievement things really not optional as suspected before?
Yeah, I'd like to disable it. I don't have any friends, so in my case, it's taking some place for basically no reason; it's not that big a deal since I don't have to scroll to see something because of it but still.

That made me think of something: Galaxy could have some elements of personalisation, like letting you decide where you want to display certain parts of it or even not display some parts at all. Of course, it would only become a concern after all major features have been implemented, but I think it could be nice, especially since it's not that frequent in software (but that's probably because it's not that simple).
