== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

UK_John: I constantly have an "update failed" amongst any updates or installs I have. But because it doesn't give a title I don't know which update is failing! It only appears amongst other updates, etc. It never appears on it's own when you click on the icon in the bottom left to see whats updating or how a download is doing.
Does this also happen when you run a "Verify & Repair" check on a given game?

Well I had this problem. Turned out it was Outlast. Couldn't really find anything to solve the problem so in the end I ended up deleting it and reinstalling. That worked.

I dunno about you, but I've been both filing and receiving bug reports online to various projects/products for about 20 years, whenI've spent my personal time and energy to file a bug report in some bug tracker, included all of the details and spent at least 5 minutes to several hours gathering and reporting data so that the developers on the other end get as useful of a report as possible, one thing I find to be the most aggravating of all, is when nobody ever even looks at or acknowledges receipt of the bug report and then later on my bug gets automatically closed either by a robot script or a mass human bug close - either of them using a generic message like "This bug was filed a long time ago, we've released a new version since, please upgrade to the new version and test it out and if the problem still exists please waste another hour of your personal time to file a new report so that we'll autoclose it in 6 months too after having never looked at it."

So, when I experience that - the first time I complain about it. The second time, I discontinue filing "useless" bug reports that will never see human eyes and only end up getting closed by a script or whatever. If a project wants to triage a lot of bug reports then someone should actually look at each individual bug report to determine if it is even likely that the report might be fixed or not, or if it is definitely not fixed simply by reading the report.

A bug reporter's time is valuable also, and just gang-closing them sight unseen is greatly disrespectful in my eyes. I hope GOG never does this. I for one would definitely put a huge low-priority on filing bug reports in the future if they started doing that. Also what's worse is that mantis kind of sucks because it has no "reopen" feature available to bug reporters, so if a bug is closed and still does exist then you have to spend a crap tonne extra time filing a new bug report and waste gobs of your time. If I were paid by the hour to do that a decent wage then sure, but free labour? Not a chance. :oP
Hi everyone, everything works great so far and I will welcome any amazing additions from GOG. Only issues I had so far had to do with The Witcher 3, especially in updating the game after a while. Nevertheless you have done an amazing job keep it up!

This is why I always ask a bug reporter to check if the problem is fixed with the latest version UNLESS it's something like SOTS: The Pit, a game I was personally involved in seeing its being fixed to be available in Galaxy, then I just close the report stating it's fixed but if the reporter has further issues to please file a new report :)

Also, I ask for confirmation that a problem is fixed before closing if it's not a version-related one :P

Sorry but I have to disagree with you here. Sometimes it's impossible to keep track of every fixed issue and every reported issue. Especially when your getting hundreds to thousands of bug reports, GOG clearly can't keep up based on my own experiences of filing bug reports. You can contribute this to lack of good bug tracking software or lack of staff contributing to the project, but it is what it is. I can't even keep track of all the stuff I've fixed working as developer, some changes are quick but meaningful changes that aren't worth documening. This get's even more crazy with teams of developers working on different things.

It's also not uncommon to start fresh with bug reports during major software revisions, like going from alpha to beta, etc. This provides much more accurate bug reports that are more helpful then bug reports from 6+ months ago that may or may not even be relavant anymore. The goal here is to improve the software, and the best possible way of doing that is not by wasting time on old bug reports that have likley already been fixed. If it's not and it's signicant enough somebody will report it again.

While I get your time is valuable, GOG is not asking us to be paid testers... there not asking us to go out of our way to spend hours finding bugs or feel obligated to report anything. Reporting issues as you come across them is generally good enough, and would take very little time. We report issues because we want to imporve the software we like to use.
So I had an issue with Galaxy not being able to load the storage info due to something I did in ProgramData (really wish there was a better way of handling this data), but anyway to keep a long story short... I got that fixed. Galaxy is not auto loading game pages however, I'm having to manually click every game to get the game pages to load. This means all my games with "The" in the title aren't automatically changing until I manually click each one. A bit tedious to say the least with hundreds of games installed.

For a few months now, I've received a message that Galaxy can't update. I tried to uninstall it and download a new file straight from the website, but the problem persists. I keep getting a pop-up saying that it needs to update, but can't.
As possible features, a way to capture screen shots in the GOG client and be able to change usernames

Are you sure it is not your firewall blocking the updates?
Any word on the next big update?

It's suppose to be coming soon.. but GOG's coming soon and our coming soon it two totally different things. I mean many features have been listed as coming soon on the main page for well over a year now. I guess GOG has officially invented GOG time (they had to compete with Valve I guess).

Anyway... let's just hope it's worth the wait, otherwise I think many of us might start evaluating if Galaxy is worth waiting for or not. Not that I don't want GOG to succeed, but there comes a point where the waiting game becomes a little to long.

ShadowWulfe: Is there a way to get access to extra downloads via the client without having to manually navigate through the folders via explorer?
Once you've finished download, you can use button in job queue (in left bottom corner) to access downloaded extras.
