Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

All of the sudden I been getting "Gog installation failed: configuration error" when a game updates. Recent it was Shardlight and because of that the "Play" button is grey and can't klick it. Game starts fine when I start it manually in the folder. Been trying using "Veriy/Repair" to fix it but to no succes.
Observation: One thing that is kind of funny IMHO, is if you ask GOG Galaxy to scan folders to find games, it will not find many of your GOG games because their installers were not yet updated (for almost 2 years now) to add Galaxy metadata support, but what's funny is that if you go into Valve's Steam client and choose "Add Non-Steam Games to Steam" it scans your entire hard disk for games and presents a massive wall of games including all of GOG's own games that Galaxy can't find even if you point it directly at them, as well as games from CDROM, DVD, Origin, Uplay etc. :o)

I do hope that the Galaxy "scan for games" feature evolves over time to at a bare minimum detect all GOG games, and ideally without having to have all of the installers updated manually. There just has to be a more intelligent way of detecting GOG games than requiring them to have special metadata files present. Perhaps Galaxy should come with a built in MD5sum database of known GOG game .exe files or something and use that to detect what games are GOG games. This would allow the database to be updated centrally in the GOG Galaxy installer rather than 1500 game installers needing to be updated.

Or even reverse engineer Steam client or something. :) Manual import of dozens/hundreds of games grows painful with each day. :)
Can't install "The Real Texas"; keeps saying this towards the end of the process:
"Gog installation failed: configuration error"
and verifying doesn't fix it.
I've already uninstalled galaxy, then installed it again

Do you use an antivirus? If so, try and disable it for the duration of the process (or just disable the file watch or something, if that's possible). I've had to do that for some games, but I don't remember the error name, so I don't know if it will do the trick for this particular issue.

it did do the trick, thanks a lot!

Jinxtah: Thanks, man. I appreciate it! I'll uninstall it once I'm done with the current game I'm playing (no chances!). Hopefully it'll go fine :)
You're welcome! The forum search is pretty bad, I really don't understand its pattern and I think it can only show up to 100 results. But fortunately, I remembered the post. ^_^

Glad to help! Also, if it happens regularly, it might be worth it to make your GOG directory an exception to your antivirus instead of disabling / re-enabling it every time. I hope it will eventually get fixed, though. It's pretty annoying, especially when you launch a long download and go do something else only to come back later and notice that it has to restart from the beginning, urgh.
I just saw WHY "Book of unwritten Tales" was downloading an additional 2,5 GB of data for me after I installed it via (actual) backup installer and imported it via Galaxy import function. This is a pure Galaxy bug. I have installed the German version of the backup installer and when starting Galaxy it redownloaded the ENGLISH version so to start the German version at all I would have to redownload it from Galaxy again. When trying to uninstall the game via uninstaller however it stimm asks me if I am sute that I want to uninstall "Book of unwritten Tales (German)" even though there is no German version anymore. So in short:

Installing the German version via backup installer leadt to Galaxy redownloading the ENGLISH version (because it is the default language). Then changing the language inside Galaxy leads to a redownload of the German language files even though those were the files which were installed via backup installer.

This cannot be normal behaviour at all and should be fixed.

Edit: Tried it again. It's not even possible to abort the download to change the default English setting to German. Galaxy simply recognizes that it does not have the default English version of the game therefore redownloads all necessary files. After that you can change the language to German and wait again for the additional 2,5 GB. This is ridiculous!

Edit2: While trying everything I also changed the language to German and noticed another critical bug. I was searching for the "abort" option which simply does not seem to be there. Then I found a strange "Bestätigen" (confirm) option which in fact WAS the "abort" option. Dear GOG team if you want to translate a menu please let someone do it who knows the language.

Confirm = Bestätigen
Abort = Abbrechen

Has anyone figured out a way to run Galaxy games through Steam and still get Galaxy achievements, etc? I have few friends who use Steam so I started using it again. Got a Steam Link and Steam Controller but would love to play my GOG games through it if I can unlock achievements and stuff.

One thing Steam has that I'm finding really convenient right now is I can set what time it download updates and installs games.... meaning I no longer have to drag my ass out of bed at 3 AM. Steam might see more of my business for this reason alone, Galaxy devs should defiantly add that.

Speaking of: It seems that the achievements of The Witcher 2 were removed. Can anyone confirm or is it just some kind of error?

I came here to post the same thing. There was a thread about them being broken anyway.

I can confirm that Witcher 2 does not offer achievements. They do not show up anywhere in the Galaxy UI for me at all and were widely reported previously to not work for people. Looking at the store database, GOG does not list The Witcher 2 as having support for achievements:

https://www.gog.com/games?feature=achievements&sort=title&page=3

[Post edited to reflect new official info from GOG]

Liosan mentions below that The Witcher 2 never had achievements implemented yet but that there was some inadvertent confusion caused about this:

Sorry for this. This *generally* works - unfortunately, there are some pretty old game installers which don't include the required information. This is one such installer - it's from early 2014, from before the Galaxy project was started. With no information available, Galaxy defaults to English. We'll fix the installer for this game soon.

The achievements in The Witcher 2 were never actually implemented. Sorry for the horrible confusion this caused :( We removed them until their implementation is finished.

Thanks for clarifying. Just wondering: Will the implementation take place in the near future? I was planning a third playthrough with the GOG version of The Witcher 2 some time after finishing Blood and Wine, but I'll gladly wait for the achievements to work properly.

I can't give you any detailed date, but generally yes - it's something we'd like to see some day :)

There are a lot of installers that predate Galaxy which when installed do not register themselves with Galaxy and require a manual import. I know of course that you guys are aware of that already, but I'm wondering if you have an internal timeline or estimate as to when the rest of the installers might get updated to support Galaxy that you're able to share? I understand of course that it is hard to nail down specific timelines with juggling priorities and urgencies and whatnot and that this might not be high on the list at the moment but I'm curious if it's something planned soon, or something we might more realistically expect to see in 3/6/9 months or later?

Some of us are doing a tonne of beta installs lately and having to manual import a lot of games every time we reinstall them and it's pretty tedious to say the least. :)

Ah, I was under the impression from things I saw previously that this game was already supposed to support achievements and that it just didn't work. Thanks for the information on this.

Updated my reply above and replaced it with a link to this official response.
