Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

BKGaming: I haven't really had time to test this yet, but has the issue of "scan and import" generally being a larger download than the "import folder" option been fixed? Last time I tried, Witcher 3 wanted to download 600+ MB with "scan and import" and like 20+ MB with "import folder".

I've even seen sometimes games generally download quite a bit of data even when the folder is up to date. For instance imported Stardew Valley and it wants to download an additional 300 MB. It can't be downloading something it doesn't already have because the folder is up to date.
avatar
Liosan: The problem was the displayed amount - it showed the whole game size (300+ for Stardew Valley) but actually only downloaded what was needed. It should be fixed in 1.1.6 in the sense that we'll show "Calculating" until we get the *real* number :)

Liosan
Eh I don't think so. I tried importing it in1.1.6 when the preview update was first released. I've yet to see "calculating" being shown. I just tried again using "scan and import" and it's failing to verify at all now, meaning it shows installed but no version number or anything. So I tried verify/repair and again a 300+ download started, and I checked the !Downloads folder to verify the actual size it was reporting and it was the same thing. So it was downloading 300+ MB, nearly the entire game.

So scan and import defiantly still isn't working right. There really isn't any reason for Galaxy to re-download any part of a game of a fully updated Galaxy compatible folder. It's wasting bandwidth to re-download something that's already there.
I have two notes about the curernt in-game overlay (not using the preview, I have 1.1.5):

First, the game also gets the input. So if you press Shift+Tab to bring up the overlay in Wither 3, the game also gets the input (Tab) so the "signs" panel comes up.

Secondly, I really miss a visible clock from the overlay. As I have no desk clock with me and alt-tabbing sometimes hurts games, it would be good to know what time is it. Otherwise I just start playing Witcher around 3 PM and I don't notice it's already evening :P

Liosan: snip
Can we get a list of what folders in ProgramData/GOG.com/Galaxy are generally safe to delete? Meaning Galaxy will regenerate them on startup and it will not effect installed games? I kind of think I know which are safe but want to be sure.

I've been having for the longest time an issue with my icons loading really slow when starting Galaxy, even on 1.1.6 with 120+ games installed. Sometimes the icons wouldn't even load at all until I clicked on the games page. So I decided to delete the webcache folder because I figured that one was a safe bet. Now my icons are loading sooo much faster. So I would like to know what else I can delete to generally clean up that folder and have Galaxy regenerate anything that might get corrupt, etc.

You might want to think about forcing these folders (such as webcache) to delete in a patch or every so often while in beta if possible so that some of these issues that may be related to cached data or whatever isn't still there even if the patch might improve performance.

Feel free to remove these folders: Logs (obvious), WebCache (icons, all the graphics, etc.), temp those will be re-created and re-downloaded when needed.
As for the files you can remove commServiceStorage.json, selfupdate.json (this will cause Updater to run at the client start), tokens.json (this will force you to re-login).

Do not remove redists, storage or support, the first one will brake the client, the second one holds the databases of installed games (when removed, client will think you have 0 games installed and you'll need to import them again), the third one is needed by the games you have installed.

Thanks, good to know officially.
My client is 1.1.6.<unknown build> currently (really wish the build ID was in the titlebar for communicative purposes without having to dig through log files, but I digress...). Suffice it to say that it is not the current 1.1.6 release/preview/etc. The client starts up and after a few minutes tells me there is an update available. I choose to update, it shuts down and never restarts. Reload the client manually, a few minutes later "there is an update" ad infinitum.

Not sure what the problem is, but first chance I have to do it, I'm going to uninstall the client, blow away all the ProgramData bits and leftover files from Program Files, and reinstall 1.1.5 and do the test upgrade to 1.1.6 preview and see how that goes.
Achievments are bugged :(

jkatharsis: Why lot's of games became uncompatible with gog galaxy (Not yet avialable) after update to 1.1.5 (beta?)
That was a temporary problem, it should work fine now..

avatar
Lebostein: After deinstalling a game it is
- impossible to close Galaxy (it hangs and you have to kill it)
- impossible to import other games via Import folder

After deinstalling a game the only chance to work with Galaxy is to restart Galaxy. Very strange behaviour and not seen before.
Uhhhh... could you please submit that to http://mantis.gog.com ? We'll want to take a look at those logs :)

avatar
Lebostein: If I set the GUI language to english, "Import folder" works. If I set language to german, "Import Folder" failed! Very strange!
This will be fixed in 1.1.7.

avatar
Lebostein: Other problem: Galaxy destroys installations while switching the language! For example Walking Dead Season 1 & 2. If I switch from english to german inside Galaxy, Galaxy is checking the file list again, downloading some files and after that I get a message "Installation failed". The installation is broken now. Verify/repair don't work in that case.
Once again - please send this to http://mantis.gog.com - we'll investigate.

Fairly sure this was mentioned before but can't find it right now.
The text of games titles in the sidebar is screwed up. Do I need to reinstall to fix this or is there a different way?

Yup, thanks.
Strange that my system's missing the font.
At least it'll be fixed in the next build. :D
Hey, 1.1.7 is out on Preview :) This is mostly a bugfix release, including fixed XP and OS X Mountain Lion / Mavericks, the notorious "everything is in italics" problem, the irritating "-" versions (there may take a while before they are fully fixed), improvements in Import Folder and several other places.

But! There's also an added feature - a DLC counter on the game view :)
