== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

After playing Dust: An Elysian Tail for quite a bit, GOG Galaxy didn't update the time counter for it. I've kept it on for a while. Giving up, I restarted Galaxy, and only after I did that did the time counter update for Dust.

I would rather have an offline time counter than an online one, and it should be able to pick up any GOG game I play even if I play such games without launching them from Galaxy. This could be an optional feature.

skeletonbow: While downloading IL-2 Sturmovik and all of its addons Galaxy pops up an error message for about a half a nanosecond (please increase the on-screen time for these messages so that they are actually seen, maybe even making them stay there until the user manually dismisses them). It said something like "server problem". I can't recite the entire message as I'd need a 300 frame per second high speed camera to capture the error message with due to the "only shows on screen for a nanosecond" problem.

Update: I attempted to download the "Renders" extra for IL2 several times and mashed PrintScreen and got lucky and caught the error in its full glory. Attached is a screen crop...
I haven't heard any feedback about this, however I just went and tried it again and the files are downloading now. Thanks for the fix. Would have been nice to hear back even a quick one-liner "Thanks, problem should be resolved now." though. I'd have reported it in Mantis first which would ensure feedback of some form but I wasn't certain it was a bug yet and was seeking confirmation by a 3rd party first. Anyhow, once again thanks for fixing it whoever fixed it. :)
Seems like Galaxy doesn't record any playtime for Stalker Clear Sky.
Can games be patched in GOG Galaxy? For example, can Pix's Patcher be ran for the Ultima series?

omega64: Seems like Galaxy doesn't record any playtime for Stalker Clear Sky.
It's never recorded play time properly for many people, myself included. When I launch a game with Galaxy, play it for say... a half hour... then exit the game, Galaxy may or may not notice I played the game at all. If it does notice, it might notice immediately or it might not update the time played for minutes/hours or perhaps not until it is restarted. More often than not it seems "not at all" is the case though. Doesn't seem to matter what game it is for me either. I'm assuming Galaxy 1.1.6 or whatever is next (probably 1.2.0) improves this feature though.

Yeagersmash: Can games be patched in GOG Galaxy? For example, can Pix's Patcher be ran for the Ultima series?
I'm not sure what Pix's Patcher is, but Galaxy can install GOG games directly, download backup installers for the games and extra content, automatically update GOG games that are registered with it with official patches to the game that GOG releases. It does not install or manage any 3rd party content, so if Pix's Patcher is 3rd party content then the answer is "no". Additionally, if 3rd party mods or other 3rd party content modifies any of the GOG Galaxy managed game files, Galaxy will overwrite them with the official GOG versions when it detects that the files on-disk differ with what is on the Galaxy servers. To prevent this you must disable automatic game updates. Additionally if you do manual updating with Galaxy it will overwrite any custom mods you may have installed because it has no way to distinguish between a corrupt file and a file modified intentionally by something else.

Hope this helps.

Quick question: The Witcher 3 still giving everyone "server problem" ? Or is just me ?

And another quick suggestion: It would be nice to have a "community" button from a game "more" drop down menu :)

The weird thing is that it works for me on most games. It just doesn't seem to like stalker very much.

Same. Most games will work for me... but a select few Galaxy has absurd issues with. Same with the issue of "Last Played" not registering when you have played the game. Most work fine, but some fail to work at all.
I have a question that bothers me (i tried to findit but didn't manage to). Are "Achievements" (ifavailable) stored locally, or i can get them back after reinstalling gog galaxy? If stored locally where can i find them? I amin need of changing my PC and moving to new one and i want to brought my achievements with me.
Something seems to have broken my Galaxy installation, the client crashes on startup 100% of the time.

Uninstalling and reinstalling Galaxy hasn't fixed the issue. The only changes to the system since the last time the client worked were the recent updates to Windows 7 and Java SE (both 64 bit).

I can't seem to add multiple log files or a folder to the mantis bug report, so which of the 8 log files should I include?

You can zip them and add them all that way...

Galaxy Achievements earned are stored online so as long as you were online when your earned them then they should be on the game page when you start Galaxy online from another PC. Other games that may have achievements that are NOT Galaxy achievements which are a few games on GOG (like Banished, Terraria, etc), are stored locally. These may or may not be stored in the save file. Not sure.

I'm in the process of redownloading my entire GOG collection to ensure I have backups of the latest builds+extras here (for lack of a better way to do it by just downloading things that have actually been updated). I decided to do this entirely with Galaxy client in order to give it a good pounding and see if I can find any bugs/glitches to report. I haven't found any major issues so far but I have found some minor ones.

1) While multiple files are queued for download in the client, interacting with the queue and reordering the queue can sometimes cause the currently downloading file to stall for a long time visually in the user interface then suddenly pick up full speed again. This happens whether or not the current download is being moved around. For example, reordering the files that have not yet started downloading without interfering with the current download can cause the download to stutter/stop for a while. When it stops it might stop temporarily as is usually the case and pick up within a minute or so, or it might just hang indefinitely. When it hangs, I have found that clicking on "Pause All" and waiting 5 seconds then hitting "Resume All" usually sorts the problem out but it can recur again later. Restarting Galaxy client itself also will resolve the issue.

2) While looking at my library of games (I use the grid view), occasionally (about 50% of the time), certain titles in my collection will appear in the grid with small red text stating "Not yet available" on it. If I click on that game to bring up the install page, the install icon will be greyed out and text stating that the game is not yet compatible shows up. This is simply not true however because if I reload the library several times or exit the client and start it up again a few times eventually the game that showed "Not yet available" in red will show up perfectly fine like all the other games and I am able to install it no problem (the Install icon shows up). One such game that this happens to on and off all day yesterday was "The Bard's Tale". Since this appears randomly when viewing the library I have a hypothesis that perhaps I am hitting a different server on the Galaxy CDN each time and all of the machines might not be in sync. Just a theory that I have no easy way to test.

Has anyone else noticed issues of this nature?

Update: Additional relevant datapoint - I am using WIndows 7/x64 OS, and choosing "view all games", so all of my games should show up and be available for install. Mentioning this so it is known that the view I am using matches my OS, so these games are all available for my OS and not showing that message because they are OS specific. The message shows up only randomly and not all the time.

Witcher 2 achievements work for you? O_o
Playing through it currently and haven't received even one of them.
As mentioned earlier in https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_what_did_just_update_thread/post11732 - Galaxy fails with a server error when downloading the bonus extras for Celtic Kings, and Broken Sword 3. Screenshot attached.

Note that Galaxy uses a CDN to serve files so there is a multitude of servers out there and they may not be in synchronization so if this actually works for some user out there, it is not an indication that it works for everyone as the errors show.

Last time I reported one of these, it was magically fixed within 8 hours or so presumably by a good GOGger having his or her morning coffee (I presume), so hopefully this one will get sorted out soon too. :) Preferably with a 2 second <reply> "Fixed, thanks." or similar. :)
