1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Just out of curiosity, games that are not picked up when scanning and importing games (which I downloaded and installed manually) once they have been updated/installed will they be picked up in the future when scanning and importing games?

For example, if i have to reinstall my OS, will i be able to simply scan and pick up ALL my games not just the compatible ones (it would save some time!)

Thank you for your time
Any blue know when the Witcher 3 Overlay beta channel will be updated to 1.11?

lefantome89: news on the next Galaxy update?
Major updates wise, no official news yet - Galaxy team is working hard on some really big stuff right now, including many invisible to you but very important underlying changes that will make future installing and updating via Galaxy the most efficient flow possible... and that's only one thing on top of few other biggies that it is a bit too early to talk about, but are definitely featured on the wishlist.

The problem with older installers is that they do not include Galaxy manifest files which are what "Scan and import" users for detecting games.
We've talked about building in some logic that would match an installation with all known game patterns to guess which game sits where, but it's not something we plan on adding very soon as for now we have "Import folder" option (available in "MORE" button for every game) which I believe was quite revamped in 1.1 to actually check selected folder for game files before importing it, so it should work fine and keep your data safe in case of a wrong pick.

staticblast: I'm trying to install the D&D goldbox games through Galaxy, but they keep failing. Is this a known issue, something I should log, or something wrong on my side?

EDIT: Seems it wasn't running as administrator, that's all. Installing fine now.
Thanks for the EDIT. I've asked one of our QA guys to check it and it went fine on Windows 7 as well :)

Thanks for the quick reply! i have used that import feature many times and was just hoping not to have to do it again! ;)

Nevermind, it's not a big deal, i was just curious, thanks for the awesome piece of software, loving it! :)

Just my opinion, but I hope they never get rid of the manual 'import folder' feature, even if Galaxy is able to detect games installed from older GOG installers. The manual import folder feature has allowed me to easily update and add games to Galaxy that I had originally installed from hard copies or Steam or Gamersgate, etc. I like that ability a lot. to GOGify my games that were installed from other sources. Yes, I love GOG that much that I repurchase games once they become available on GOG.com. In the DRM-Free revolution, money is your weapon.

PASTEL-FLO: There's no irony in older OS' being incapable of allowing the functions required by the client. This is more unfortunate if anything.
avatar
Yeshu: Why is it working on my computer with winXP then?
I couldn't care less. Take it up with the person I quoted who actually has the problem.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------
I recently downloaded GOG Galaxy and downloaded about 2/3 of The Witcher before I started getting issues with the client crashing. Preventing me from achieving anything. Annoying when i have a very strict download cap, so unfortunately I can't afford to participate in any further testing. I've started downloading the game again directly from the website in those 1.5gb bins. Seems to be working much better (and faster) this way. Good luck to everyone else.

I know, the manual import feature was so handy when I recently needed to re-add a lot of older GOG games.
I haven't thought about adding non-GOG games using it though, i may have to try that out with some old games!
I also have a tendency to repurchase games on Steam and GOG to replace disc copies, it is just so much more convenient to have all your games in the same place without needing to keep swapping discs to play different games! :)

Is it possible to disable Auto patching?

I didn't find it in the settings and that blasted "downloading a 10GB "patch" for a game that I just updated with an up-to-date installer" for Dreamfall Chapters is kinda getting on my nerves. Especially since the "pause downloads" seems to uncheck on its own after a few hours.

Kardwill: Is it possible to disable Auto patching?
There's a checkbox when installing the game to disable auto patching for said title. Alternatively, click on the title, click on more, configure, and choose to manually install updates.
Any ETA on a linux release for Galaxy?
Please integrate a Save-Cloud function as soon as possible. This feature is a must have for this client (See steam for example)
