1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

MarkoH01: Could someone please explain to me how this game overlay option works? I guess the beta chanel option is there to have the possibility for beta updates whenever tehy are available but what is this game overlay option for?
Currently it only works with The Witcher 3, you can test it by choosing a different branch on the configuration screen for the game.

DarkR1der: When will Galaxy be likely to download updated game files to the set directory/folder when manually manage folders is set,

There seems to be an issue where Galaxy just downloads to C: > users > user name > appdata > local > temp, disregarding your setup, then moves the files on to your set directory/folder.

This results in game files/patches in the case of The Witcher 3 having an endless loop of downloading files it has already.
I chewed up 50GB because of Galaxy repeated downloading of The Witcher 3 patch.
As far as we know this should not work like that. There is no known case where Galaxy downloads anything to C: > users > user name > appdata > local > temp, unless you explicitly tell it to in the Settings windows. If you encounter this problem, please submit this issue to http://mantis.gog.com, attach your logs and we'll have a look.

realsyntech: Oh yes!!!! This annoys me like hell! I have a very slow con and d/l many gigabytes when installing a game just to find out it's NOT in the manually set game folder, is a major PITA in my case!

Please GOG, make this a priority to make sure that the downloads are put in that folder and that the installation is started from there afterwards, so that we have at least the installer there in case things go wrong. So that we users with bad cons don't have to d/l stuff serveral times (this also helps in case of a HDD failure!).

edit: and it should NOT matter if I d/l a game via 'configuration' or via 'install'. Everything I d/l should be put there, regardless how the d/l was started.
Again - as far as we know it works correctly, not like what you said :| If you encouter this with any particular game, submit an issue to http://mantis.gog.com, attach your logs and we'll try to investigate.

Paratech2008: I tried to install Saints Row 2 with Galaxy and it kept saying I didn't have enough disk space even though I had over 30GB of space.

I used the GOG site and it did download the files.

I have Win 10, 64bit, 16GB Ram, Quad Core 2.6 Athlon CPU.
Make sure your download directory (not installation directory) isn't set to a location with not enough free space.

Displays in-game achievements at the moment you unlock it, for example.

MarkoH01: Thank you - but what does it (the game overlay) do exactly?
It can draw stuff on top of a full screen DirectX game such as in-game notifications from an external application (Galaxy), allow any other type of pop-up window in-game type stuff, much like Steam provides when you press SHIFT-TAB in the Steam client while a game is playing. Right now Galaxy doesn't have a functional overlay other than the experimental Witcher 3 thing but eventually when it is released we'll have in-game notification of achievements, FPS counter and whatnot all overlaid on top of the game screen. Hopefully screenshots also because many games don't include that function built in anymore (*cough* Witcher 3 *cough*).

My Witcher 3 used to be version 1.08.4 and is installed in the Galaxy Client. I downloaded the 1.01 -> 1.10 patch (9.9GB) manually via Galaxy Client, as I wanted to keep the patch for use later (I am not in a country where the internet is fast enough to redownload items, it takes days!). I also downloaded the Hearts of Stone DLC (5GB) v1.10 to install.

I exited Galaxy and installed both the patch and the DLC, but when I start up Galaxy, it's still reporting my game to be 1.08.04 and then attempts to down a 'patch' for 17GB! When I start Witcher 3 it's version has been updated, and I have the new title screen and the DLC works just fine, it's just Galaxy that is now trying to update me everytime I start it up, and I have to cancel the download all the time.

See my attached screenshots...

I have also noticed that if I switch off automatic updates, then the 'rollback' becomes visible and 1.10 is actually shown on the list, but the 1.08.4 radio button is selected.

Is there any way I can get Galaxy to recheck my game version? I tried 'verify and repair' but that just starts the 17GB download again.

When I launch GOG GALAXY a window pops up saying it cannot download the latest version.

But the version I have installed already is 1.1.5.28.

This just started happening in the last hr or so.

... and now it stopped doing that... ?!

Hello Fallen_Zen,

of course I can. Already did.
I downloaded the new W3 patch via GOG downloader without any problems but then I started Galaxy and since the file checking of the automatic update took like forever I tried to download it seperately via Galaxy and archive this version instead (hoping that Galaxy would then recognise the new version without doing the intense time consuming file checking). However in average I have a download speed of 0.2 MB/s (instead of 0.7). Please tell me why I should use Galaxy if everything is taking longer here than using the old and still perfectly working GOG downlaoder? Are your servers that weak?
K. I just manually downloaded and installed The Witcher 3 patch 1.11. (454MB) Galaxy didn't recognize patched game and prompted for update. Verify/repair solved the problem, though 53 files (83MB) were downloaded again..
Hi, I have been using GOG for a good amount of time now, and so far I have loved it a lot. The in-app UI, the features, and the GUI are all clean and crisp. As you can imagine, I have seen no reason up to now to actually comment negatively upon the product till this moment. As of installing Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt, the application has consolidated the main game and the recent expansion there by, seemingly, treating it as a new "entity". When I click on the option "More" within the game Library Page, I am greeted with the normal options but when I click on "More > Configure", instead of the usual array of DLC's that I may willingly choose from I see Free DLC Program (16 DLC). I do understand that I am able to modify them In-Game, but having that small feature allowed me to check on the status of my DLC's without the need to boot up the game. Allowing for me to quickly reference what files were being allocated to my Game, you can see how that is a useful tool. Is this is a bug? If so I will make a report, if not I will make a feature request post.
