Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

skeletonbow: Also, please fix Galaxy client to directly show what currency the prices are in.
1.
GOG supports two $ currencies: USD and AUD. AUD prices are shown as A$. All other are just in USD

2.
prices can vary depends on country which you are in currently

3.
there is a bug when changing the currency or language through settings, you need to re-login on each platform to have all consistent. gog.com and galaxy don't share these settings on the fly

This is odd then because I get two different prices and I've never changed my currency before ever and don't appear to have the choice to do so if I wanted to (which I don't). So my currency selection is whatever it was in 2009 when I signed up basically which shows as USD in the website at the bottom, and USD in Galaxy under account settings.

I'm in Canada and have not been to another country since 2005. The only way I would appear to be in another country is if Galaxy is IPv6 enabled and you have servers operating over IPv6 in which case my IPv6 tunnel would be preferred and that terminates in New York City.

Either way though I still see 2 very different prices both in USD presumably and while I technically live in a border town, I am firmly in Canada on wired Internet (no wifi). I'll gladly take the prices Galaxy is offering me though which are 20% cheaper.

Update 1: I just relaunched Galaxy client and watched network traffic in Windows Resource Manager and Galaxy initiations quite a few connections but I did in fact note that it does connect over both IPv4 and IPv6 so this could potentially be the reason for different prices. If it turns out I get cheaper games for using an IPv6 tunnel then I definitely embrace the future (although I've embraced it since 2007)...

Having said that, if any other Canadians out there want a 20% discount on games -> http://www.tunnelbroker.net might be your discount coupon. :)

Update 2 Ok, this is very strange. I just reloaded the GOG.com homepage in Firefox and it went from being IPv4-only to dualstack (IPv4 homepage with IPv6 subresources) but the price stayed the same at $9.99. In Google Chrome I reloaded and the price went from $9.99 to $7.99 also with IPv4 homepage with IPv6 subresources. Galaxy shows $7.99 all the time. So now it appears that the price shown has a degree of randomness to it rather than just being a Galaxy versus browser thing. Repeatedly reloading the page with cold cache results in the price occasionally changing from $7.99 to $9.99 and back.

Anyhow, I like this feature! Please don't change it! :)

Update 3 Upon closer inspection, the subresources that are loading over IPv6 in Firefox and Chrome are just fonts.googleapis.com and doubleclick.net analytics or whatever, everything GOG in nature appears to be IPv4-only on repeat page reloads, but the prices do randomly change from time to time nonetheless. I can't easily test this in Galaxy client without manually resolving IPs from resource monitor (I'm using the IPvFox and IPvFoo extensions in Firefox and Chrome respectively). So this goes back to strange now, but awesome-strange. :)

JayBDD: Is there any hope of the games that are not compatible with Galaxy (e.g. Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space) getting updates to make them compatible? Or am I being too hopeful? Would be nice to have my playtime in those games tracked (as well as not having to resort to third-party patches just to run some of them in fullscreen >_>).
avatar
mike_cesara: Did you try install them manually and adding to Galaxy? The Bard's Tale seems to be not Galaxy compatible (not on windows anyway), but keeps tracking playtime after adding to the client.
Thanks for the suggestion, but the last time I did that (with Jade Empire), Galaxy decided it had to redownload all of the game files.. At least I kept my saves, but I can't afford to get the connection I'm using shaped due to excessive data usage. I'm nervous about that happening with other games.

I'm messing with Galaxy a lot for last couple of months and a whole game was redownloaded only once, Rise of the Triad after serious update. I believe your Jade Empire installer was quite old and that's why Galaxy decided to redownload whole game.
If The Bard's Tale folder contains files like goggame-1207659164.info, goggame-galaxyFileList.ini, you should be perfectly safe with adding the game. Can't promise anything bad won't happen though : )

How to remove friend from Galaxy?
Adding seems very easy, even too easy as for me. Got a friend request a couple of days ago, clicked on avatar just to ask who's this and request was automatically accepted. Now, tell me please how can I remove a friend from Galaxy? ; p
Actually already did it on website, couldn't find any other way to do that in client.

When will Galaxy be likely to download updated game files to the set directory/folder when manually manage folders is set,

There seems to be an issue where Galaxy just downloads to C: > users > user name > appdata > local > temp, disregarding your setup, then moves the files on to your set directory/folder.

This results in game files/patches in the case of The Witcher 3 having an endless loop of downloading files it has already.
I chewed up 50GB because of Galaxy repeated downloading of The Witcher 3 patch.

I've since had to uninstall The Witcher 3 from Galaxy.
please put the wishlist in store or library it doesn't make any sense under our profile
avatar
DarkR1der: When will Galaxy be likely to download updated game files to the set directory/folder when manually manage folders is set,
Oh yes!!!! This annoys me like hell! I have a very slow con and d/l many gigabytes when installing a game just to find out it's NOT in the manually set game folder, is a major PITA in my case!

Please GOG, make this a priority to make sure that the downloads are put in that folder and that the installation is started from there afterwards, so that we have at least the installer there in case things go wrong. So that we users with bad cons don't have to d/l stuff serveral times (this also helps in case of a HDD failure!).

edit: and it should NOT matter if I d/l a game via 'configuration' or via 'install'. Everything I d/l should be put there, regardless how the d/l was started.

Uninstall Galaxy, go to %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\* and backup/delete temp, redists and webcache folders, then try installing Galaxy again.

*usually C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy
^should be sticky or something..

and that's the place where you can find logs.
