== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working

Changelog 1.1.15 (September 7th, 2016):
Changes / Improvements:
• Added Wallet button in dropdown menu under user's avatar
• Performance improvements on UI speed and a little on CPU usage
• Enabled copying text in Galaxy forums
• History will now remember only the 100 most recent pages in history
Bugfixes:
• Fix for "Disk access problem" bug, which broke installation and updates of games. (Bug happened on Windows only, but general mechanism is better on OS X as well)
• Fix for Verify/Repair, which did not work in some scenarios (The above bug for example)

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

I notice that the GOG Galaxy Beta installer for OSX is a .pkg rather than a .dmg file. What does it install on my Mac? And where does it install it?
I know that you guys are working on many things, but you should relocate at least 1 person to Galaxy. I mean months have past and Galaxy is still there where it was. You are boasting about Galaxy in your videos, but when you look at its development you act like " do we have a client? oh, yeah we do, hmm, what was it called?"
is it possible to change the .exe file to launch when you press play in galaxy? i want to play fallout w/ the fixt mods through galaxy so i can keep track of my playtime, but i don't think it's possible at the moment

It is possible. Find and edit "path" line in <i>goggame-#.info</i> file in game folder.

Yeah I saw that. that's why I said "I know that you guys are working on many things" .
About "big" update if Galaxy wishlist to be believed then it wouldn't be that big in that amount of time, or at least team working on it is very small or unexisting that's why I said that they should relocate someone to galaxy, else it looks like they are not really into it. And if they need help in finding bugs/polishing I think many people would be more than happy in joining Galaxy beta's earlier preview build testing.

In order for a game to support achievements, the developer of each individual game has to add code into the game itself to determine the criteria for triggering an achievement and link to the Galaxy APIs to register the achievement with the Galaxy service. Each game developer needs to decide themselves if adding support to their game for Galaxy achievements is a worthwhile use of their developer resources, and I imagine the deciding factor is whether they perceive that they are likely to see an increase in sales of their game for adding achievements that would provide a return on investment for putting the resources into it.

Having said that, the only games that are likely to have achievements added to them are games that already have achievements on Steam to which the current owner of the game has the source code and an active development/maintenance team and perceive an increase in game sales from adding support. We're much less likely to see this happen for older games that no longer receive updates and/or no longer have a development team working on them, and it's extremely unlikely it will happen for very old games such as MSDOS era games, or for games which the developer no longer has the source code.

In the end it all comes down to whether the effort will result in an increase in sales just for the feature or not I imagine, and that will vary from game to game and developer to developer.

Hi,

The GOG Galaxy client really takes a very long time to load for me (about 1.5 minutes), it's constantly working my HDD until it pops up. Anyone else having this problem? I would say a few seconds should do the job...

Using version 1.0.6.31 on W7/64. Galaxy is installed on a magnetic HDD. Eight (8) games are installed and known to Galaxy.

GOG Galaxy to /Applications, some settings files to /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy and a Service plist under /Library/LaunchAgents.
