== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

What is the latest version of Galaxy, right now?

monkeydelarge: What is the latest version of Galaxy, right now?
I have 1.0.6.31 (beta) and it was auto-updated. I tried to download earlier from gog.com/galaxy and I got 1.0.5.14 (beta) :)
avatar
Fomalhaut30: The games are installed in the default named directory, except for the fact that I changed which drive they are installed to. Otherwise, the names are as the installers set them up as. Witcher 1 is installed to /The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director's Cut and Witcher 2 is installed to /The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition.

Galaxy is also currently in the middle of redownloading Wasteland 2, with Xenonauts on deck.

If it helps, the client also states that rather than Updating W1 & 2, it lists it as Installing W1 & 2. Witcher 1's manual installers match the version number of the ones on the site, but I was mistaken on 2's. W2's are slightly out of date, but since there is no patch file available to download manually, I'd have to redownload the entire game.
avatar
BKGaming: Rename The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director's Cut's game folder to "The Witcher Enhanced Edition" (without quotes) and rename The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition to "The Witcher 2" (without quotes).

This issue is that on Galaxy's servers this is how they are named and the standalone installers name them something different. Changing the name then installing them should allow Galaxy to detect the files already there and it will make your download like 600MB for Witcher 2 and a few hundred for the Witcher 1.

You might end up with duplicate start menu items for these two games but you can just delete the broken ones...
I'll try that as soon as I finish downloading (thru the Downloader not Galaxy) the newer files for Witcher 2. Even though it's going to take forever and a damn day, but I only have to do it once.

Is there a list somewhere of directory names that are different between the ones that Galaxy uses and the default names for the Gog manual installers? If not, that would be a good thing to have.

Thanks for the help!
I tried to fire up Planescape Torment on my iMac today, running OS X 10.10.4, i5 3.4, Nvidia GeForce GTX 775M with 2 gigs RAM, 8 gigs system RAM. The game was working fine the last time I played it which may have been roughly two or three weeks ago. Like all 10 GOG games on this system, it was freshly installed by Galaxy since Galaxy at least here would not migrate existing apps, it would just download and install them again.

When I tried to run the game, I got a system message with progress bar indicating the game app was being verified. This should not have been happening for a game that was already approved by me earlier and was then run, etc. That is only a one time, first time thing with an app from an unidentified developer on OS X. No, this was NOT a case of that being the issue. The verify failed with a message that the app was corrupt and offered to move it to the trash for me.

I tried another GOG game I had installed and run previously. The same exact thing happened.

I tried the remaining 8 titles, all of which had already been given their approval by me previously and played. All of the were reported as corrupt.

No, my hard disk is not failing. I've been using this computer all day, in fact I used it quite often, and just sticking with today, I ran a lot of other games to see what would happen. Not one single problem. I've been running various apps all day long. Not one single problem. Not one.

That's all I need to see along with knowing how buggy Galaxy is to know where blame can be assigned here. What happened and how? I have no idea but something ain't quite right when only the 10 Galaxy games which were all tested and ran just fine not long ago are now all corrupt while not one other issue exists with this system.

So anyway, I am off now to get PST via HTTP download just like I always used to do and I will install that. Hopefully the that isn't corrupt but I am thinking that is going to be fine.

Worthy of note, I have left all settings for Galaxy at their defaults which means I have allowed Galaxy to update whatever it wants whenever it wants to. I don't know if that played any role here. I do know I don't have time for this. As I have said before, errors this catastrophic are not the stuff one expects to see in a beta, this is stuff that ought to be found in-house and fixed before any end user is burned by it. I know, testing entails risks and I am fine with it. I don't care they are gone. It goes with the territory but my comment still stands not that it matters I guess.

I just bring it to point out to anyone here that is using this thinking it is by and large safe and might just have an annoyance or two, make sure you are fully backed up. That's all. That reminds me. I am myself. I'll go fetch an earlier PST install from there, from before Galaxy presumably destroyed my 10 GOG installs somehow.
Hello GOG team,

I encountered one strange issue after Galaxy update. First I was in between download of Witcher 3 1.07 patch when GOG Galaxy updater ran. Once Galaxy updated, my patch also downloaded successfully.

Once download queue got empty I tried to install Pillars of Eternity, but Galaxy getting stuck at "getting file list" status forever. Though I can ABORT and do other stuff, it seems that it's not downloading anything for this game. I also tried small download like Manual and still Galaxy keep running with "Getting file List".

Steps I tried:
- I already exited and reopen Galaxy
- Multiple time Abort and Install
- Still not checked if other games are working or not.

I will try today and check if it's issue with windows or something else.

Thanks.

What does the log say? PoE as far as I know has a lot of files, downloading/parsing game's manifest may take a while, how long did you wait?

We'll definitely look into it but it's rather strange issue. Do you have any reproduction steps maybe? Have you tried repairing the games? Can you do a Terminal command on a broken game bundle like this and paste the output?

codesign -vvv /Applications/GameName.app
Website + Galaxy client "Chat" == infinite spinning circle again here FYI. Most likely it'll be fixed by the time I wake up though like last time.

I waited for almost 15-20 minutes. Should I wait more ? Also I checked with Manual (5MB download) to make sure. Even that also didn't work. I will surely try to check again today and post log.

I would like the option to disable the creation of start menu icons and Games Explorer icons when installing games. That's the only problem I have with this program.

Yea me too honestly.

Wasn't so bad when I was using Vista, every GOG game got put under the GOG.com folder. But now with Windows 10, they fill up the entire start menu which is nearly 100 games.
I've got an issue with The Witcher 3 updates. It has been fine before. Whenever there is a new DLC or an update available, I'll get a blue dot near the game and I'm able to select update now (I have automatic updates disabled for the game).
Patch 1.07 worked fine this way but the latest DLC (new combat finishers) doesn't. It still tells me "UPDATE AVAILABLE" but there is no blue dot or an option to update the game through Galaxy. I could probably download the DLC manually but I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Same problem here with "The Witcher 3" update, this afternoon I finally manually downloaded the update and installed it.

Also same bug with the "Outcast 1.1" update, no way to down the update with Galaxy (except by downloading it with > Get backups & Extras, and manually installing it)

gog galaxy recreates start menu shortcuts for the witcher 3 after every update every though I delete them.
The option to create them after install is unchecked.
