Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

kirghylommax: It wasn't just *A* file, but thousands of files in the C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage folder. Most were about 2 MBs in size. I found that these are the files that let Galaxy know that a game is installed and to keep it in your installed games list. Unfortunately, I had to delete these files, so none of my GOG games that I installed show up in Galaxy anymore. Minor problem. The big issue is thousands of files taking up 150 GB of space on my 300 GB boot drive when I have 2 x 2TB drives that I could've routed that to if given the option to do so. I'll try to provide a screenshot from home this evening as I am not currently at that PC.
Thanks for the info. We're currently investigating the issue and will resolve it ASAP.

Fallen_Zen: I don't quite understand what do you mean by certificate? What's the name of the file and where it is located? Could you post a screenshot?

Hm, yeah, mine is only 2 GB but that's still pretty much unacceptable for what (in my mind) should just be an XML file of a few text records. Maybe this accounts for Galaxy's atrocious load time for people with a large number of games?

I'm sure other clients save extraneous data on the hard drive as well, but not gigabytes worth. If this way of doing things is costing us both load time and storage space, it's probably time to change Galaxy's loading and data-storage methods.
I only found the option to disable desktop shortcuts when installing games, and, indeed, no desktop shortcuts are created.
I was referring to the start menu shortcuts which keep appearing after every update or dlc I install.
The game in question is Witcher 3.

Apologies. It was C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage. In the subfolders that are created when a game is installed through Galaxy, it creates many small files and some .sst files that are 2-3 MB. The .sst files are the problem.

Yea it's defiantly a bug or something... I got nearly 100 games installed and my storage folder is just a little bit over 1 GB.
Some games are additionaly downloaded to support folder, for ex. every update of Serpent in the Staglands is released, when game is actually updated, the "add" folder in Program Data remains here with another copy of updated game, that is more than 1 GB of space on C.
I just did an import on the games that I had previously installes. After they updated, the 'storage' folder is now 612 MB. All really strange. I'll keep an eye on it and report back if it goes back to it's previous size.
Not sure if mentioned but Galaxy doesn't seem to be handling error messages. I was trying to get Spelunky working and it wouldn't. No errors, no hour glasses... nothing. After reboots and installations I just happened to think to try launching the app directly without the installer and, TADA! The app gives the "d3dx9_43.dll is missing". Which is easy to fix. Now I'm getting a new error... but its not being reported to my screen. Seems like I had to launch the app from the .exe first, THEN it would work in Galaxy.

You really need to pass all errors, alerts, etc through the app.
I am not sure if i overlooked it, but i cant find any way to add other users with just typing in their names.
Would be great.

I just write that just because i want to give my friend the possibillity to add me.

I'm constantly running out of space on my boot drive which is a 120GB SSD drive. I usually have between 1-5GB free space maximum on it, and I install all of my games and most other software onto my E: drive instead. I do have Galaxy Client itself installed on C: as I figured it was small enough to install there but I hadn't taken thought as to post-install data and metadata that it might store on C:. I just checked and the directory you refer to above is using over 1GB of space on my SSD drive which is wasting high speed space for something that is IMHO not really necessary to be there on my own system.

I'm thinking I should have instead installed Galaxy to E: however would it use E:\ProgramData then or would it still store that stuff on C: I wonder? Also, I've read countless stories on here of Galaxy deleting people's entire game libraries and even parallel subdirectories that were not under the GalaxyClient directory here in the beta thread so I'm extremely cautious to consider moving it around or uninstalling it and reinstalling it somewhere else for fear a bad programming algorithm will fry my entire drive. ;o(

So despite the fact it's burning over a gig of space on my important drive right now I don't feel comfortable messing with it by uninstall/reinstall. I think I am going to just kill Galaxy client then move the subdirs in Explorer myself and set up a junction point in the original location so that Galaxy and the rest of the system sees it where it always was before, but it is actually not there but rather where I want it - on E:. That very well might be the best workaround for everyone with this problem right now.

Long term, a better solution would be Galaxy making note of every single directory on the entire computer that it uses for any purpose at all, and making each one of them configurable in the client, as well as being able to add multiple directories for where your games get installed to as many people need to install games to several drives due to limited space on one drive but having ample on other drives. Steam client lets you configure as many locations as you like for installing games and then when you install a game it defaults to one dir but lets you choose from a drop down combo box any of the other dirs you've preconfigured. That's a great way of doing it IMHO. But that's a different issue than the ProgramData one.

Waste as much space as ya want on my E: drive, it's 2TB... but please give my 120GB SSD drive a break. ;oP

You, me, and about 12 million other people. Probably the most common thing being commented on in the forums since the beta started. :)

I'm disappointed by the "Try GOG GALAXY" notifications on the front page, in my library, and on the download page of every single game I own. I've gone from uninterested to actively avoiding the client. (I'd already lost interest in my library page when it went to something I liked to arrange carefully to gray-on-gray, and cut the box art I liked to pieces to fit in more gray.)

Not that it matters, you do what keeps the company moving forward and I was already uninterested. Just putting in some feedback.

The sad thing is that they thought about this and even include an [x] on some of the pages to indicate that you don't want to see that advertisement anymore, but after you click on it you'll still see the add all over the place. The only way to truly get rid of the Galaxy ad banners is to use AdBlock Plus with the AdBlock Plus Element Hiding Helper and carefully select it with the helper. One needs to be really careful in doing so that they don't select too wide of an HTML element etc. to block which might be used by other promotions or content in the future that shouldn't be blocked though. I'm not annoyed by them advertising Galaxy - that makes sense... but it is annoying to see the banner plastered everywhere with some locations having an opt-out that is not honoured anywhere else on the site and resets itself, and that's doubly so if one has already chosen to use Galaxy and is actively using it - because we already know and we already use it, we don't need to be told over and over again every page load.

So yeah, I hope they update the Galaxy nag banners with a per user account variable stored server side that remembers whether you want to see that banner or not once you click "don't show again". The temptation to do it with cookies is there of course, but they get flushed/reset regularly by people and a cookie does not cross between laptop to home desktop to rec room desktop to office desktop etc. but a server side setting does.

But I don't think they'll likely bother with that either as it'd probably be seen as too much effort.

At the same time as I find it annoying though, if it is effective at getting lots of people to try Galaxy and is helping GOG grow their customer base, and they feel that hiding it or making it less prominent by default would lose some of that, and feel that making it configurable is too much complexity and waste of resources then I'd rather see GOG benefit from it more even at the expense of being a little annoyed on my end because I can always block it out on my end myself anyway. But it sure would be nice to not feel the need to have to. :)
