GR00T: Read what? I just looked at the first page of the forums and see no other posts addressing this particular Galaxy issue. Nor do I think it's announced in any of GOG's stickies. Yeah, I know it seems like there's one every day (which is somewhat of an exaggeration), but I also check the forums every day, so I - like you - are painfully aware of it. As noted by john (and as much as it pains me to agree with him) if someone doesn't cruise the forums regularly, they're likely not going to be aware of the Galaxy install by default issue.
*edit* Or did you mean to read the disclaimer is small lettering at the bottom of the game DL page in the Library? If so, point taken, but it's still a terrible set-up by GOG and it's easy for anyone - even people that are aware of it - to make the mistake of grabbing Galaxy-laden installers and install it by accident.
MarkoH01: I completely agree. With the embedded Galaxy installers GOG wanted to make sure that even newbies would be able to use all the features Galaxy is providing without opening a support ticket because those would be missing in case of a non Galaxy installation. But because GOG never communicated this clearly anywhere it now seems to be the other way around. New people are wondering why Galaxy has been installed in the first place without their knowing.
I said it then and I say it again: the actual "solution" is not a good one and it's clearly miscommunicated (if you can call no communicatiuon this way) to every buyer who is not browsing the forum 24/7. So I would recommend GOG to go back to the drawing board and think of another olution - maybe one of the many we suggested here when the uproar started.
And I would like to add that I am still EXTREMELY disappointed that the PROMISED option to set classic installers as default still has not been implemented here at all - and I have been patient. Not only did they not implement it they did not even talk about it at all ... yes, we are used to GOG not communicating with us but I sincerely was hoping this would change a bit after our visit and our talks then.
Watch out. If you don't change your attitude, you will probably not get your next GOG paycheck. ;-) Just kidding.
Just the other day I was thinking about reviving the "6 people went to GOG" thread and ask about the changes that have happened since summer, but then I thought, that I might give them more time.
Now reading your statement, I might not be wonrg with some of my feelings towards GOG after all.
And regarding the "download disclaimer", I still think that this a joke. Yes, you could read that (what I did when I first encountered it, but GOG could implement their promised "make non DRM download default" button and no one can complain about it anymore.
