It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

As you can see in the attached image, a lot of game cards are empty and don't have correct links.

Hm, we were unable to reproduce this problem. Do your friends experience the same?
Have you tried checking some other browser, clearing your cache, cookies etc?
This happen for some seconds because the site is very slow, so wait for loading

I tried it on Firefox and Chrome on Windows 10 and Debian Linux. Still got the same result. I also tried it on private window, but it didn't help either.

It loads a bit slow, but works fine for me in the end. I was able to see those half gray-half yellow rectangles as well for a couple of seconds before it did.
Have you tried setting/adjusting your browser to view the GoG homepage at a different 'Zoom' level ?. Try different one's (100%, 120%, 150% etc), and see if it helps the situation ?.

Patience, young Padawan...it's a massive sale going on, the page just needs a little longer than usual to load.

Simply hit "F5" and try again.
Is the "try to connect"- symbol in the upper left corner of your browser spinning, or has it stopped?

If it stops without the pictures being loaded, it may be because your connection is too slow, meaning: your browser tries to load the page with everything, but at some point the time to connect is too long, and it will stop loading, before the pictures are in the cache.

Edit: attached a picture to show an example of what I am facing since the sale started.
Simply hitting "F5" and waiting will resolve this issue.

Loading currently takes a few second but works fine otherwise. I am using Firefox 104.0.

You're right about high traffic during the sale and internet connection. Everything is OK now, after I switched to mobile network.

This will be due to the power of your PC, plus the quality of your web connection, and especially due to the sale on at GOG right now.

The solution as you have already accepted, is just waiting longer.

I could go on about the bloat on GOG's main page, but that is likely to fall on deaf ears. The website certainly isn't well optimized, and is probably developed with a WYSIWYG software, which is notorious for bloat .... and then if you check the source you can see GOG have oodles of JavaScript etc running, so lots of scripts happening during page loading.

What GOG have displaying on their main page, should really be split over at least three pages, one of those solely being a NEWS page, another a SPECIALS page, and so on.
Experienced it a few within several years. When the connection is slow and the sale is on.
Clicking refresh or pressing F5 once is alright, why not, but you are loading everything, again and again, that way.

Pressing "End" then "Home" helped me a lot and on other sites as well
