Dear GoG devs, you've thorougly enshittified the landing page. It's so difficult to find relevant new releases that I don't even bother. The banners are full of useless promos/info, game lists populated by dlc-s, soundtracks, etc by default.

If this is an attempt to follow the supermarket tactics of confusing the uses by misplacing products, let me tell you, it fails. The time I spend on GoG is shorter and shorter.

In hope you change your ways. Adios.
Agree, GoGs website is an absolute clusterfuck! Luckily this still works.
Personally, I think the old landing page is twice as hideous.
Everything is hideous, everything must die. Rip

I usually just go straight to the forum anyway.

I enter directly to the forum, the front page is so heavy that is difficult to navigate between banners.
Unacceptabllllllllllllle!
Implying the front page was ever truly good?
Makes yer mam look good though.

Same. And if I check the front page I just Ctrl+End for the news, and at most 3-4 page ups and glance right for the new releases.
It is so atrocious and sillybilly!
I'm inclined to agree, but at least the old page is there, and makes use of space better. Personally, I'd make the GOG landing page something like the hot water vapor News Page, and start from there.
I think a lot of us will agree it ain't great, but to define it as hideous is way over the top.

It is certainly better than Epic's or Steam's or Itch.io's and many other stores.

But it is very bloated that's for sure, like so many sites these days who just don't care about abusing our PCs and web connection.

I do have to admit though, that it has certainly been worse at GOG, a lot worse. I cannot recall if it was ever better ... perhaps a bit.

They should really split it off into at least two pages, each with less bloat.

And specific sales pages aren't much better, sometimes worse.

Just too much clever dick stuff going on, instead of just being sensible.

I gave up on the main sales' pages years ago.

For whichever reason, Steam does not feel so in-your-face to me. I dunno about the other stores, I lost my Epic account years ago and I link-bought a single item on itch.

Now there's an idea.

The front page won't win any design awards for greatness, but it's also not deserving of the label "hideous."

My biggest issue with GOG site design is literally any page on the site. I don't know why, but no matter what route I follow to land on GOG, be it clicking a link, typing in the address directly, whatever, the Sign In button takes at least 10 seconds to show up, and then when I do sign in, it takes at least that long for my account stuff to appear.

Not the end of the world, to be sure, but annoying every single time.

EDIT:

Okay, now that's cool. I didn't know that existed, but it looks much better than the front page. If I didn't access GOG from a public computer, I would bookmark that instead of ever just going to gog.com

My complaint is that it loads slowly on my connection speed, but otherwise I just ignore it beyond seeing what they want me to look at immediately. Maybe check for give aways which I now have to scroll down to see.
