Away to my laptop I flew like a flash
Threw open the lid, and typed in my pass
The light from the screen on my now-worried face
Disclosed to my eyes, all the mess taking place

Rules
1. Cryptoclaiming is strictly forbidden. This is claiming in some sort of unbreakable code, and it makes the game no fun. Don't do it.
2. Betting among players is strictly forbidden.
3. I, agentcarr16, am the Moderator of this game. My word is law. Bookwyrm627 is the assistant moderator. His word is law.
4. If you have a question, send me or Bookwyrm627 a PM. Alternatively, bold your question in the game thread.
5. The roles were NOT distributed randomly. However, the alignments and Lover pairings WERE distributed randomly, courtesy of my personal set of D&D dice. Details below.
6. All players have a vote, which they may place on any player, including themselves, or which they may place on No-Lynch. A vote may be withdrawn by unvoting. You may not change your vote without first unvoting. This is absolute. Votes will be ignored if they weren't preceded by an unvote.
7. All votes must be bolded, like this: Unvote agentcarr16, Vote Bookwyrm627. This is absolute. Votes will be ignored if they aren't bolded.
8. Once a player acquires more than 50% of the votes, the player is lynched. No amount of unvoting will prevent a player from being lynched once he has received more than 50% of the votes. If No-Lynch receives more than 50% of the votes, there will be no lynch.
9. When you are dead, you are dead. Stop posting. One “bah” post is permitted and encouraged.
10. Don't edit your posts, EVER. This includes posts made in the Lovers' Chat threads. This is important. In addition, do not make two posts within 10 minutes of each other, or the forum software will merge them, creating the appearance of an edited post.
11. Don't discuss the game with anyone outside of the game thread, except where you are permitted to do so by your PM.
12. All players should post at least once every 24 hours. However, in the spirit of Christmas, I will not be extremely harsh with those who don't conform to this requirement.
13. All players on the winning team win, regardless of whether they are dead or alive. All players who were modkilled will lose, regardless.
14. The purpose of this game is to have fun! Please do not take anything said as personal. If someone is being rude, vote for them and convince the rest of the players to lynch them. And just pray that the person isn't your Lover.
Open Setup
I choose this setup because of its exactly 50% EV, and because of the its Nightless feature. Well, and the fact that it seemed like an interesting setup. It is call “True Love” and can be easily researched here on Mafiascum.net.
The game is Nightless, allowing rather more playtime in a rather shorter period. Therefore, there will be no deadlines. The only way the game will move forward is by lynching.
All players are Lovers, divided into four pairs. Both scum are individually paired with a Town player.
Lover pairs do not know their partner's alignment.
Mafia have a private daytalk quicktopic.
Lovers have a private daytalk quicktopic.
All players are free to quote their PMs. All players are free to quote from their Lovers' Chat threads.
Setup Details
Because I like to be thorough, and this is an Open setup.
I rolled a d8 to get the first Scum, then rolled again to get the second Scum. If I had rolled the same number, I would have rerolled.
I then rolled a d6 to get the Lover partner for the first Scum and rolled a d6 to get the Lover partner for the second Scum. Again, if I had rolled the same number, I would have rerolled.
I then rolled a d4 to get the Lover for the first unpartnered Town player, ignoring his own number, and then automatically matched the last two Town together.
If anyone has a problem with how I did this, send me a PM. We can argue about the probabilities in private :-)
Sample Town PM
Role: Town Lover with Bookwyrm627
Win Condition: You win when all threats to town have been eliminated.
Abilities:
You have a vote. Use it wisely.
If you or your Lover is lynched at any point in the game, the other will automatically suicide.
You do not know your Lover's alignment.
You may talk anytime during the game with your Lover here: quicktopic.com/blahblahprivatemoderatorthreadurl
Sample Scum PM
Role: Mafia Lover – Your mafia partner is Bookwyrm627 and your Lover is Someotherrandomdude.
Win Condition: You win when you control 50% of the votes.
Abilities:
You have a vote. Use it wisely.
If you or your Lover is lynched at any point in the game, the other will automatically suicide.
You do now know your Lover's alignment.
You may talk anytime during the game with your Lover here: quicktopic.com/blahblahstickauniqueurlhere
You may talk anytime during the game with scum partner here: quicktopic.com/blahblahblahurlforscumthread
Yes, I realize there are redundancies in the PMs, but I was striving for the same format all the way around. I also realize that I forgot to label the signup thread as a signup thread. *sigh*
Anyway.
If there is anything I have forgotten, please point it out to me and I'll try to fix it. If you have any questions, bold them!
It is now Day 1.
You may begin posting.
There is no Deadline.
