Has anyone noticed... how Kryps didn't post one youtube video? I discovered his scum tell.

adaliabooks: Well.. that was quick.

Oddest game of Mafia I've ever observed... and that's saying something with the games we've had on here...
I agree. I'm still not sure what to think...

avatar
HijacK: @Agent, the actual word. Chemistry reference.
Ahhh, I see. Yes, that makes a lot more sense than if you were referring to me X-D

avatar
bler144: I think the setup is fine on the whole, but might need a larger scale (e.g. 6 pairs with 3 scum), since if town doesn't hit scum D1 in this 4 pair setup, they're probably hosed no matter what. And even D1 isn't quite 50/50 since scum can coordinate at least enough to tip the scales.

As Krypsyn pointed out, by D2 (the first point there's really any data at all) they either need someone from town to suicide, or scum to bus, neither of which is really all that viable.
Yeah, more players might make a difference. That's an interesting idea.

avatar
CSPVG: Is this now the shortest Mafia game we've ever had on GOG?
Is it? That would be exciting!

avatar
Krypsyn: "Amazing! That is the 4th straight successful hit in a row! What're the odds?!"
Well, that's pretty straightforward to calculate. It's (1/6)^4 of course. ;-P

And would you actually run it to take 45 minutes???
avatar
trentonlf: I would have done it too ;-)
avatar
Krypsyn: Yeah, yeah. I wonder what I would ahve done had you voted CSPVG right after I had. One of the reasons I suspected you and JMich is that you split your votes for the third Lover's Pair.
I voted who I thought was scum ;-)

Funny, adaliabooks thought it was my town tell.

Oh, does the counter start over on a successful hit? I admit I didn't read the rules too closely, but that would make sense.

I thought the odds would be 1/6 * 1/5 * 1/4 * 1/3 = 1/360.

edit: Nope, I think I was right. it is a 1/6 chance until someone kills someone, then it goes down to 1/5, etc

edit2: Double Nope, I re-reread it, and I think you are right. It isn't worded very well, if you ask me. :P They mean 'daykill' as the action made be the player, not to mean the actual kill (as I was reading it at first)

Makes sense to me.

Well, that WAS a quick game. So drealmer, you were scum after all. I should have stuck to my initial suspicion.
IDK, [roulette] doesn't seem THAT complicated to moderate. You presumably have 1 scum chat that just remains open all the time. Beyond that it's just a minor bit of tracking.

Personally I think I'd find that easier than modding the one that just ran, or Flub's Milk game.

Edit - the good cop/insane cop looks harder for everyone involved including the mod. I think I'd like it somewhat better without the mafia framer in the mix, but roulette just looks like more fun.

Vengeball looks ok. Of the three I would order it:

1) Roulette
2) Vengeball
...
468) Good cop/Insane cop.

It is just that you'll have to make lots of small rolls. You can't just fall asleep for 3 days then come back and make an update post and prod people, then go away for another 3 days.

edit: But, yeah, I am at my computer most of the time anyway.. so I probably would be a good choice to host. ;)

Die rolls are no fun in Mafia.

Maybe I said that before.

I generally agree, esp. in a standard day/night cycle since RNG can skew the odds too much to one side or the other, but I think it would actually be pretty fun/funny in that setup.

Esp. at 1/4-1/6 it becomes more of a "vote with consequences."
