I requested a refund for Ultimate Red Collection. And it was granted. In words only.
In reality it's been almost 3 months since my initial inquiry.

Some employee (goes by "Rokky") had been apologetically stalling the process of refund until a week or so ago.
These days Rokky just ignores the ticket.

So you want your money back for the CD Projekt RED Collection after you've played Cyberpunk 2077 for over 42 1/2 hours. You should be banned from GOG not ignored! Asshole!!

Imagine if GOG had maintained its DRM-free values instead of pouring everything into a client that sells DRMed games (through "the new app on GOG Galaxy 2.0" or whatever) and a flagship game in Cyberpunk that is seemingly being used ("My Rewards") to prep customers for the upcoming online mode. I bet as a function of this, there would be less people complaining.

I've had no problems with refunds. 7 tickets over the course of almost 4 years.

The jury needs more information before we can give our judgement.

First of all, why do you want a refund?

I've asked for refunds a few times in the past, and in all cases I got it in a timely manner. Mostly those cases were that I had bought a wrong version of the game or it would have been cheaper as part of some bundle I would have bought anyway.

No complaints from me, so far.

Not really, because whilst I agree he's exploiting the system, GOG itself chose to open the floodgates to exactly such exploitation, by implementing an idiotic new "anything goes" refund policy the other year.

I presume GOG did that as a PR stunt, even though the one or two days worth of good PR that it got them is/was/never will be in any way even remotely worth the permanent financial blackhole that this terrible decision will leave them in.

The OP is just playing by GOG's own rules, therefore, exploitative as his behavior is, he cannot be faulted for it...or at least, at most, his fault is 50%, and GOG's fault is the other 50% for choosing to make a rule that allow refunds with no conditions.

Paragraph one says (inter alia):

"We're monitoring the effects of the current update to make sure no one is using this policy to hurt the developers that put their time and heart into making great games. We may refuse refunds in such individual cases. We'd also let you know about any future adjustments in the voluntary Refund Policy in advance."

This does give GoG the power to refuse to refund in circumstances of their choosing. Of course, you could argue that a term that has been ignored/misinterpreted by so many users perhaps should be clarified.

GoG are justified in rejecting the request under these circumstances.

It's not. The ones complaining are considerably more vocal than the ones who actually love the game. Check out Metacritic's user reviews for a more well rounded view on happy against unhappy gamers (19k positive vs 7k negative, and about 2.5k mixed, with scores ranging 5-7).

However, given all the over-inflated hype generated by CDPR, this negativity is expected and balances things out. Also, a lot of people are still understandably angry at the messy launch of the game, and their reaction is justified.

Btw, Kingdom Come Deliverance has a lot more bugs than CP2077 v1.2, and that's a 3 year old game with many patches. Is the criticism against CP2077 fair? No. Is it justified considering how CDPR handled everything? Yes.

As for the OP:
Please explain why you deserve a refund after spending over 40 hours on a supposedly 20 hour game.
