This is GOG.... there is no method to rename GOG Mixes as far as I'm aware, hence deleting it and making a new one is the only option. (...)
lol
Please don't tell me you actually think that.

As for my GOGmix, they've only deleted it after I've added Neverwinter Nights to the list, somehow it didn't bother them for almost a year (I've added this gogmix the moment Beamdog has hijacked Planescape Torment:, so it was in Febrauary or March 2017). And it's been on the top this whole time and several Beamdog fanboys complained about it and asked GOG why do they allow this. But GOG doesn't give a rat's ass about their customers so it's not surprising they didn't comply until Beamdog told them to do so.

Nope, I don't think that. I know it.

Seriously, this place is held together with spit and sellotape. No one knows how the forums work, and presumably as the GOG mixes are from the pre-revamp era no one knows how they work either...

GOG mixes are an automated system, it would probably be possible to manually go in and change urls and titles but it would most likely break all kinds of stuff if you did.

Well, it's an entirely different set of skills and programming languages used... I don't imagine the people doing the work on old games are also web developers (or if they are they don't have the time to work on the website because they are fixing up games).

It's true. I have a GOGmix with a typo in it and I can't change it. I notified one of the blues (Judas) and he tried to change it as well. It wasn't possible.

If you have a beef with GoG:

Section #20:

https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/212632089-User-Agreement

Go nuts.

That's what you should be doing instead of posting here.

Hope this helps

Ancient-Red-Dragon: No, GOG should not have done either of those things. Beamdog is the parasite of the industry. That's a factual, truthful statement. To delete it or to force the creator to rename it are both acts of censoring the truth.
Respectable. But alas, things rarely work that way. Speaking the truth is the quickest way to attract hatred, especially from those who perceive their own shortcomings for being "special"... Like Beamdog's targeted crowd and community fodder.

And of course GOG are cowards and won't even respond here and explain why was my GOGmix deleted (and why so late) other than "because we can". Pathetic.

But you already posted their reply here. What makes you think that they would say anything different just because of this thread?

Also I don't think the word "coward" is correct here. What do you think they could be afraid of by posting here as well? Maybe you already forgot it but in the end you are just a customer and you can decide to not buy here anymore but I am pretty sure you won't be able to tell GOG how they manage their forum/website as long as they don't breach any contract they have with you.

You going to cry about it for the rest of the year? o.O

I hope so this is fairly intresting. Well in a dumpster fire way.
avatar
Lord_Kane: I dont think GOG should have deleted the gogmix honestly, they should have just renamed it, it seems heavy handed to have to just deleted it and not given the creator a chance to rename it to something else,

No it isn't. It's an opinion stemming from your assessment of the situation. ''Parasite'' is a derogatory term, not a fact. A factual, verifiable statement would be something like ''Beamdog discontinued the original versions of Baldur's Gate.'' (That's what this is about, right?)
avatar
Breja: Frankly, the only thing that's obvious from this conversation is that you were acting childishly while GOG was being professional. What did you expect, when your responses were literally just repeating "lol but they are a parasite" and "you are pathetic"? Could you not have even for that one conversation tried to man up and act like a grown up? You were throwing a nasty tantrum and I can just imagine the poor guy on the other side of that conversation rolling his eyes thinking about the manchildren he has to deal with in this job :P

They straight up told you that you're breaking the users agreement, and that you can put the mix back and still have it be negative, just without straight up insulting anyone. If that's too hard for you then you have a problem and should seek professional help.

I don't like Beamdog and I think everyone here knows I have no problem with raging against GOG when they mess up. But this is just ridiculous. You people need to pull your heads out of your asses and try to take a good, sane look at the situation.

viperfdl: This. And no, I'm not a gog.com employee.
Add me to the list...

And regarding Breja, should I have time to waste I could post you a looooooooooooooooong series of post showing you that he does not mind about speaking his mind regarding GOG choices and even if I do not agree with everything written, I respect his views because they are shared, most of the time (we all have our bad days ;) ), in a constructive and respectful way.
avatar
goral: Oh, and here we have GOG employee posting on his civil account. Hi Breja, AKA GOG apologist.
You got the wrong target. The resident GOG apologist is BKGaming. Not Breja.
