Ok, normally I'd try not to engage you on this subject, but whatever-their-name-is Jenner is a joke. Jenner has been pulling random publicity stunts, and garnered so much love from the liberal community for the sex change that they (happy, now?) got out of accidental murder for it. Maybe you feel like some people are women trapped in men's bodies or whatever, but Jenner isn't one of them and should not be celebrated for anything.

The problem is that there are definitely risks to disclosing one's transgender status. People have been murdered once other people have found out they are transgender. (See my topic about transgender murders: 20+ reported murders in the US in 2015 alone, and that's not counting murders in other countries.) As a result, it is not safe to disclose to somebody you don't already know well.

Also, I am looking at sex as something that happens naturally, not based on how many hormones they received artificially.

You can keep saying that Bruce is a woman. You know my position on it (Caitlin is a male in this case).

I do curious though to see what you think about this story: Chloe Jennings-White is an able bodied woman who identifies as being "transabled" meaning that although her legs function normally, she uses leg braces and a wheelchair because she identifies as being disabled. Is that something you would also agree with or does there seem to be something wrong with that?
Not to mention Bruce has been getting attacked by feminists like Germaine Greer: "“I think misogyny plays a really big part in all of this, that a man who goes to these lengths to become a woman will be a better woman than someone who is just born a woman.”"On top of that, Bruce has been criticized for oversimplifying what it means to be a woman (picking out what outfits to wear).

I can see why one would want to avoid discussing this particular individual.
i agree with you Zeogold, if someone cannot disclose the fact that they identify as transgendered from the start, I do not see why I should be with them as they are hiding something pretty big from me.

Germaine Greer is a known transphobe and TERF (Trans-Exclusive Radical Feminist). Try finding someone who is more respected by the trans community if you want to make this sort of argument.

In keeping with the topic of this thread (GOG Current Affairs), I thought I would post this and see what people think:

GOG has recently confirmed that they will be allowing developers to update their games:

"We will be rolling this out to selected developers in the first phases, but in general, yes, that's the idea. The more automated the whole process is, the more timely release we can have, and of course for new games getting updates on time is key." Genetics in general do matter past birth and any post natal change in genetics might lead to unnexpected results. Maybe you do not know how cancer works, but it is all about genes. How is what I posted someone devalued by your statement? Bruce has been attacked by both the transgender community, liberals, feminists, conservatives, etc... I am simply saying that he is a divisive figure in many ways and I can understand why people would be hesitant in bringing him up.

I think it is generally a good idea, but I think gog.com should preserve the old version in case something goes wrong with the update and the user didn't download the game previously.

It is fortunate that, unlike Steam, gog.com doesn't make updates mandatory. (There have been some times mandatory updates have caused issues; Skyrim 1.2, for example, was so bad that 1.3 was just a regression fix.)

Yeah maybe. Would you want "these people" as your grocery store clerk? Bank teller? Boss? What about your employee or your renter. It's a pretty slippery slope choosing who you interact with. No, because you grow out of it into your biological gender. Being born with a gender, claiming a gender, and injecting yourself with hormones are all different things.
And before you even TRY to bring up the point of people with gender dissociation disorder, let me point out that these people are in the very slim minority.
Regardless of whether you consider it lying or not, it's still a bad idea. The truth is almost guaranteed to be found out, and you'd be setting yourself up for a huge problem by not saying anything beforehand.

If you need an example, look at El Lolicon Pendejo up there. Sure, maybe you wouldn't want to associate with such a guy (mainly out of fear of getting arrested), but if he's come to fix your TV, you'd let him fix your TV and pay him a fair price for it.
