AccurateArt: In keeping with the topic of this thread (GOG Current Affairs), I thought I would post this and see what people think:
GOG has recently confirmed that they will be allowing developers to update their games:
"We will be rolling this out to selected developers in the first phases, but in general, yes, that's the idea. The more automated the whole process is, the more timely release we can have, and of course for new games getting updates on time is key." (

The question is, will the standalone installers receive the updates at the same time as these updates go live. I'd love to see what people think about this.
dtgreene: I think it is generally a good idea, but I think gog.com should preserve the old version in case something goes wrong with the update and the user didn't download the game previously.
It is fortunate that, unlike Steam, gog.com doesn't make updates mandatory. (There have been some times mandatory updates have caused issues; Skyrim 1.2, for example, was so bad that 1.3 was just a regression fix.)
LeonardoCornejo: I seriously mean it, you get your brains all worked up just because someone decides to treat Jenner as what [she] was born as.
dtgreene: First, use the correct pronoun (especially since her pronoun choice isn't something exotic).
Also, you were born as a baby. Do you want to be treated as a baby all your life?
AccurateArt: I guess I am really confused as to why lying about who you are to someone you are dating would ever be acceptable.
dtgreene: Except that there is no lying involved. It would only be lying if a trans person explicitly claimed to be cis.
It is not a lie for a trans man to claim that he is a man, or for a trans woman to claim that she is a woman.
I'll say again, if I were dating someone who upon being asked about biological sex claimed that he was born a woman (did not mention that he was transgender), I'd consider that a lie, doubly so if he knew that I would not classify him as a woman as such.
