There is probably more than 22 but they remain silence and i would be one of those if i didn't find my old account from the time my friends switched from mumble to discord. I personaly never liked it, it looks more like a social media.

^ These remain my favorite types of giveaways! :D All community giveaways should be modeled like this, in my humble opinion.
They encouraged interaction and creative thinking. They were loads of fun to play and demanded some personal investment. Participants got to learn more about one another. The experience was also fun for non-participants alike. If I won a game, I felt like I had "worked hard" for it (rather than passively being awarded a free game). And if I did not win a game, it always left a pleasant feeling because the journey was such great fun! Those fond memories remain with me until this very day. :)

Could you (or someone) please explain to me how that giveaway worked? I'm curious.

I updated the reasons for the move to Discord to explain that I'll be shutting down the GOG giveaway, and I won't be taking any of the keys with me to Discord. I'll transfer ownership of the documents to whomever starts the giveaway that replaces the old one. This should eliminate the worry about whether or not people are double dipping in the giveaway on Discord and the giveaway on GOG. The Discord giveaway will include keys for all platforms, including GOG, but they will be specifically donated to the Discord giveaway, which will have nothing to do with the GOG forum or community.

I agree, that three alternatives limit may be accepted during high load periods of time.
Updating the last page of the topic right before posting is a good practice to minimize these risks.

But forum bug with delayed posts is a valid problem indeed.
The only thing we need is to find new maintainer(s).

A lot of people tested the Discord signup (myself included) on the GOG Giveaway thread, and were met with a "phone-wall". See over a dozen people's comments from around post 13758 onwards, many complaints on their own forum, plus the screenshot someone posted. I don't mind giving out email (like a lot of sane people I have two, one for friends / family / banking and a more 'disposable' one for everything else). Not giving out my personal mobile number though.

They vary but the rules are set by the donor and are nearly always explained in post 1. Some people with a few or even one key may do a "first come, first serve", others may do a "say I'm in and then I'll pick the winner via random.org". Others with a lot of keys like Doc may set up some big (usually amusing) seasonal event. Rules for that one were here.

I would definitely like to see some form of giveaway here, I'm not going to move over to Discord (even though I assume finkleroy has some very good and valid reasons for that decision).

Basically, people created an amusing character and were then paired up in rounds, Doc threw a dice to determine the winner of the round, then wrote a funny story describing the fight and how that win occurred. The losers sat in the audience, the winners continued. At the end everyone got a game whilst the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places got 3, 2, and 1 GOG bonus games of their choice.

Thank you. So the players didn't have any effect on the outcome of the giveaway (i.e. pure RNG), unlike say Doc's dungeon crawling RPG giveaway (in which I did participate), right?

But it requires too much effort, sadly.

Btw, IMO the random selection is more fair, compared to first-come-first served option.
