Since feedback isn't actually welcome in this thread and since I got alot of nasty toxic attacks directed at me while denial of their toxicity. Specifically BS off-topic accusations.I think it's time I switched from trying to have a logical debate to trying to clear my name. I don't want to respond to trolls but if people can't see the toxicity and the BS, I guess I have no choice.
First, none of my suggestions are about me. So anything you say about me is automatically off topic. Most of these are the dictionary definition of a
https://www.thoughtco.com/ad-hominem-fallacy-1689062 I'll just focus on AB2012s ad hominem attack post since Briansims all like "nothing wrong with this post" & noone else is speaking up. And for time saving since breaking down toxic posts and showing how BS they are is stressful as well as time consuming.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ First AB2012 "implied" (but pretty much out and said) that I was ungrateful and feeling entitled. No need to back up such nasty words, just accuse and by accusing it is accepted as fact.
Then AB falsely accused me of complaining of personal unfairness against me with the Giveaway. This never happened, which is probably why AB cites no examples of this. I said that the giveaway was unfair to people in general, giving select few extra favor with preferential pick because they have friends active on Gog and because of their own high levels of activity. Something that some seem to argue is a feature rather than a problem.
Then AB says I got 10 games. First, only 4 of those games are nondaggered (one of which goes on sale for a $1, but I'm still glad I got it) , in 7 months. the rest are daggered which were giveways by Gog and people collected the extra keys. I appreciate people collecting free for them keys but it's not the same as Docs generosity. And there is no real limited supply of these daggered games as most people already got those games for free at source and some have lots of keys. One or two were gog giveaway daggered keys that
were about to expire and would have just been wasted if no one claimed them.
One title is a DLC I didn't realize was a DLC and didn't "receive" . A couple? others were games I already had and didn't realize, Thus those dagger codes were released for someone else to claim in the unlikely situation we were to run out of a daggered games keys. I apologize to LS for my carelessness in that.
Then AB falsely accuses me of claiming to have been left out. Which didn't happen, so my getting 4 games in 7 months is
irrelevant. Then AB says I was warned to be active in non-Gog threads by LS, which is true as well as irrelevant. Well the warning part was true even as it was none of AB's business. But I
had been posting. I linked LS to posts I had made through the months leading up to then and LS recognizes that it is not always easy to see how active someones been. Of course all this was done in PM since it wasn't anyone elses business! which is why AB didn't know.
AB: If there's a game on the list I'm unsure about, rather than ask for the sake of asking I'll leave it there for someone else who wants it more than I do and will ask only for something I know I really want.
Of course this is just AB falsely accusing me of picking titles for the sake of it and not because I'm interested.
Well it might be a little true with the daggered games, I don't know what games I might like and as pointed out there is no supply issue with the daggered games which I believe all have eventual expiration dates even.
But all the nondaggered games I asked for were games I was sure I would like. Which is why there were months where I didn't ask for any non-daggered.
AB: Not knowing what to ask for is solved simply by browsing the site now and familiarising yourself with what you like
What a horribly stupid idea. I mean of course I look at titles sometimes and learn about new games, but Gog probably has many thousands of titles, each title I look at might take 15minutes to a half hour to examine reviews etc to determine if it's a game I'd really like. Sure, some titles I can see at a glance I'd not like but even if only a fraction of them take that long. and there is many thousands of titles...
That said, I would look at even titles I missed that someone else requested to learn about new games. But again, who has that kind of time and energy to look at every single game on Gog! Also good luck remembering all that! So
there will always be hidden gems you never heard of before.
AB:
spirit of the Community Giveaway should be about far more than the ability to block other people from asking for what they want out of fear of missing out.
Is the "community spirit" that of false nasty ad hominem personal attacks where you accuse another person of trying to block others from getting a game or getting a title just because they are afraid of missing out? I would hope "the community" is better than that. But if people can't see how toxic such posts are, I wonder.
