I have also another idea to let you great users test something, and I've created a simple test - please go to chat using this link:
https://www.gog.com/account/chat?gogisthebest (not that I mean GOG is the best, but it is :P )
This will disable feature of auto-expanding message input. Please report to me if you had crashes using this link or not. :) Thanks!

Ritualisto: I went to chat using your link and got no crash. (Windows 7 64 bit and Firefox 40.0.3) I waited for 5 minutes (longer time with no crash then before).
Great! Thanks! I need more users to confirm this so we can propose a solution.

Some more information from me. Chat tab is open in the background since about 20-30 min and still no crash here.

I followed your link, FF seems to not crash, there's a progress :)

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work for me (Win 8.1, FF 40.0.3). The link still crashes my Firefox after a few minutes. :(

I opened the chat using your link and just let it sit in the background without typing anything at all. Result: Crash after about 2 minutes.

Win 7 (64bit), FF 40.0.3

Johny.: mrkgnao:
There is a much higher percentage of windows users on GOG.com website. :) I suppose linux users use magog because they like such tools. (I am linux user myself)
I can assure you that Windows users also use magog heavily. You should hire mrkgnao to improve you website. Or at least pay him something for his work and include it directly on you website as 'advanced search'.

Tried it. Crashed as usual. Win7/64, FF 40.0.3. Thanks for trying.

58% was the number for Windows 7.
Any Windows is 79%. Any Linux 17%. Any Mac OS 4%. Stats from the last 5 weeks.

That said, you are probably right, in that MaGog likely sees a higher representation of Linux users.

No change at all. Open chat (using your link) -> wait minute or two doing nothing -> crash.

Win7/64, FF 40.0.3

Thank you all, so we see it has nothing to do with auto-expanding input... If anyone want to try Firefox nightly build please follow this link: https://nightly.mozilla.org/.

Really strange. If I open chat the normal way my Firefox 40.0.3 crashs on my Win 7 Prof 64 bit (both german). If I use the link my Firefox doesn't crash. I can repeat this (both normal or safe mode of Firefox).
Unfortunately link crashes FF too. Will now try the new buikd.

Edit: Good news (no, I mean really good news not GOG good news) - no crash with nightly after several minutes!
Edit2: I was thinking (and it did not hurt): what if the problem does not exist because of a special build or an add-on but because of a special setting (security setting or something)? Nightly starts in default mode without any individual settings. I may try to install a second version of FF without tempering with any setting and I'll see if that works.

yeah crashed again , earlier it wasn't the case.

personally i won't use a nighty build , the issue could reappear in an another build >_>

the chat is the only thing which cause a problem like this.....

I don't plan to use a nightly build for forever. It's just for testing purpose. Has the nightly crashed for you too?

nope, because i didn't tried , tired to test this issue (i already wasted to much time....sigh)..... i let the support / gog's webdevs handle this (not my job) so far the bug is not yet identified.....as far i know.

i provided all informations i could provide to the support (dxdiag, screenshots, description of the issue).

there's a moment when you should say stop.

Since the nightly is being installed seperately and at least for me does not crash I think it still would be a help to see if it does crash for anyone. After testing you can uninstall it :)
