I hope not. Monetization of the client is what is driving me away from steam.

Lol, it wouldn't work here, Steam has a MUCH bigger userbase to make that system work, besides, cards nowadays is worth what, 0.05€/$? The best way to get some cash is with CSGO boxes, just sold one yesterday for 1€! :)

I don't think he was talking about trading cards, but about prepaid GOG cards. Notice the "paranoid parents" bit.

Achievements and those things similar = crap


In physical store retail GOG gift cards for use on GOG? Sure what the hell. I've been after this for a few years. Pay with physical currency and use the darn card on here would be fantastic.

Their silly claim that this would require a bank in each country was rather retarded though. A poor excuse. Just set this thing up in the most used nations and voila! Done.

The USA is a perfect place for this. One of the highest grossing nations. So there is little excuse not to do this, besides just flat out not giving a $h!t.

No, please. Even though I'm currently level 41 on Steam; I only did it to support the games I loved.

BUT! I would love it if they were to provide event styled achievements, like, The Great Steam Treasure Hunt.
