Big credit for this win goes to Mainosmies, because he knocked two orc and the goblin out for this match. This led to Jolly only having one legit receiver and an empty bench. This helped me focus on preventing just one orc from getting the ball and gave me a man advantage as injuries on both side started happening.
Then there was the fact it rained the entire match, making it very unappealing to attempt throwing.
My game plan going in was take either the blitzer/catcher or the thrower out of the game, yet despite knocking them down multiple time with claws I never even broke armor.
Second half almost went really bad for me as a Wight actually picked up the bouncing kick off in the rain on my weak side. I ran him back to my strong side and was trying to cage him up, as I moved a zombie I got a little click happy and sent him into a tackle zone and forced a dodge, I burnt a reroll and he still failed (not surprising he is a zombie). But it left my cage incomplete and wide open for a blitz. A black orc came charging into my wight and knocked him down, the ball bounced next to his elf blitzer, the knocked down wight blitzed and knocked the elf away and attempted to pick up the ball which failed, reroll failed too, but it bounced into 4 of my tackle zones and none of his. The orcs were able to get the ball to bounce out of that group towards the sideline so it was in one Flesh Golem's tackle zone and the elf's. My werewolf pushe dthe elf away and Luthor was able to come pick up the ball and start running it down the field. Jolly's Ag4 thrower failed a dodge with reroll that I assume he was going to 1D blitz Luthor, since that failed I was able to stall one turn before scoring. Jolly had three turns to even it up,Turn 14 I kicked out of bounds and he gave it to the elf. I was able to blitz him with a GFI on my WW knocking him down and knocking the ball out of bounds. The crowd threw it back in at the feet of orc thrower, turn 15 the rain finally got to the thrower and he failed to pick up the ball with sure hands. Turn 16 I managed to knock down the only orc in scoring position.
A very fun match though now instead of relaxing I have to start dreading my next match, not sure who it will be but I fear all the other D2 teams:
DodoGeo - High level Chaos the team that inflicted the most injuries by far.
Choeng - Elves that play like orcs, so much guard
Psyringe - Elves that play like elves, a very legit one turn TD threat.
Haven't looked at possible D1 opponents but they are probably just as scary.
