Everyone is still more or less learning i think. Just pick a durable team like dwarfs/chaos dwarfs/orcs/undead and youll have fine time learning the game without running out of players :)

One of the good things in Blood Bowl is that if you are playing against a team that's more developed, you get some bonuses to compensate. As a new player, you'll still need some matches to get a good grasp of the basic tactics (when to take a risk, how to protect a player that has the ball. etc.), but that comes with time. For me, the game was bizarre enough to enjoy it during the learning phase.

You can also play single player games to get a feel for a team, but _don't_ try to copy the AI's tactics. ;)

At least the parts about passing and dodging. You want to know if it is a difficult action or not when you do it.

Yeah, my modem had a hissy fit turn 7.

First turn he killed a saurus with a foul (apothed to badly hurt) and badly hurt my kroxy.
But by the time I disconnected, I had badly hurt or worse 4 of his players & he was 2-0 down.
Why does it never disconnect when I'm losing?!!?
We are going to try again tomorrow.

I didn't play the game before the league, saw it as a reason to finally get it off my backlog.
Still figuring stuff out as the league progresses, took me nine games to get my first win.

I can't seem to find my opponent Pogo_Puschel online :( I assume (s)he must be in a different time zone because (s)he is online when I'm asleep :)

dwarves .. very durable, tons of skills, but very slow
orcs .. excelent mix of strenght and skills, durable
undead .. very strong, very reliable team, mix of everything
human .. fast and not fragile, but very average

The MooMooCows defeat the Sparkling Strikers 3-0 in a match that can only be described as a bloodbath.

After a fast touchdown of the Chaos team the Elves tried to retaliate with long passes and setting up their team deep into the enemies half. The ball changed hands a couple of times until one of the Elves Blitzers, got up, charged at the Ball carrier, pushed him away, dodged a couple of times, then took the ball, then run for the endzone...until he fell flat on his butt right after the line being unable to score the Touchdown!

From then on the Chaos had easy game, cuasing 2 KOs and 4 Casualties using every dirty trick in their book. With their legs shaking in fear as they were reduced to mere 5 men on the pitch they couldn't pose a threat against the overwhelming chaos team anymore.

Aided by a couple of unlucky dice throws causing a few premature slip ups and dodge failures the Chaos team had an easy time to score 2 more Touchdowns before the end of the second half.

We tried to play the match few days back but internet didnt agree with us - so today we had some proper smackdown.

It was fun, it was bloody, it was BB and it could have gone either way - but somehow both of us managed to play draw.

...although this means Rod's going to still lead the league, did atleast manage to tarnish his scales just a bit ;)

on the bad news my star Ulffie is going to miss next game thanks to a stone thrown from the crowd on the last turn and Rod's lizards mistook my ag4 lino as kebab and ate 1 point from his ST...so he has been turned into handicapped human catcher :S
