In a match that clearly presented two rookie teams that still have a lot to learn, Amaz'n Craze won 1-0 against the Striking Shoggoths.
Replay is here. The beginning of the match is worth a look, since the Nurgle displayed a severe personal identity disorder. Apparently they thought they were elves, and passed and caught balls as if there's nothing to it. This includes an AG2 Nurgle Warrior catching a medium range pass without any problems. However, strangely enough, as soon as their unexpected passing skills had put them into an advantageous position, their ball carrier suffered from a fit of anxiety and retreated back to his team mates.
The 'zons sacked the Nurgle ball carrier several times, but the ball was not their friend. It kept scattering away into Nurgle hands, or into the most disadvantageous direction. Later on, it would jump away from simple pick-ups and hand-overs. However, an over-confident Nurgle pass allowed the 'zons to gain possession on the opponent's side of the pitch, and from there they managed top secure a touchdown.
The second half saw the 'zon cage trying to break through the Nurgle defenses, but there weren't enough Amazons left to push free. When there was finally an opportunity to break through and score a second touchdown, the ball jumped away from another hand-over.
In the end, the 'zons are happy about the victory, and also happy that no apothecary was needed (we played the first match without one in order to finance more positionals). Some players bemoaned the lack of tentacles on the Nurgle side, though. As the game's sole scorer Zonic Zoe put it: "We thought we'd be facing something interesting on the pitch, but all we met were sick, stinking males with no regard for personal hygiene. We can easily have that at home, we don't need to enter a Blood Bowl pitch for that."
