After their lucky break last week, this week the Dark Elves had to face the match without the dark magic of the Halfling cauldron. Luckily for Nagarythe Decadence, they landed a sponsoring deal with "Whipping Post", Nagaryth's finest purveyor of leather goods and other assorted conveniences, providing them with Mithral groin protectors that left the dwarves with basically no unprotected area to attack.
The only break for the Dwarves came when one of them mistook an elven knee for a spigot and attempted to rip it out with his teeth. The elves disapproved of his base choice of liquor of course.
As a result, the Hammerfists were unable to inflict any lasting harm on the Elves, leaving two apothecaries and the Budweiser Babe discussing factual errors in "50 shades of grey" over a glass of wine while the crowd moped about the lack of blood.
Final Score 2-0 for the elves. Replay at http://sdrv.ms/19bjVn8. And I have a new toy. Good-looking game summary attached :-)
As can be seen there, I was rather lucky to suffer very little from my attempts to use my elves as bait. Stampede played an excellent, basically unpenetrable caging game until I suffered an unlucky turnover and he got a bit carried away with finally getting his hands on my poor elves. I used the resulting opening for a very elvish passing play (despite the Blizzard) and managed to run away from any pursuing nasties with my single available catcher. One lucky offensive in the second half, a bit of stalling and some real luck with "going for its" rounded out a very fun and fair match.
