2-1 for WereCrow. What to say but that after a promising start everything that could have gone wrong just did. The last few turns were just an agony to watch. Double downs, apo killing a player, injuries all round.

That ending looked like it was a super-polar affair:

You'd either be stoked as hell if you were WereCrow or you'd be crushed to bits if you were DodoGeo.

It was still a hell of a game, though.
Just played MafiaK1.

The game was played in Sweltering heat, which hampered him more than me.
The 2 minotaurs seemed to be particularly susceptible.
Must be all that fur.... :)

I kicked off, stole the ball & scored fairly early (turn 4).
He pushed back, I blocked him & knocked the ball out.
The fans threw it back in kindly for him.
1-1 at half time.

I didn't want a repeat in the second half, so took it slow & stalled out to the end.
His luck ran out at about the same time as his rerolls.
Scored on turn 16.

Final score 2-1 to me.

My thoughts on Chaos:
Don’t start with a mino.
Without any starting skills, you are going to need your RR to keep the team going at the start.
A mino either eats RR or becomes a liability.
Get some skills while you save up for the beast….

Chaos are a slow burning team.
You may struggle to win your first few matches.
But once the team develops, it is one of the strongest teams out there…

Surprised.
I downloaded it from there about a week ago fine.

I've been debating what I'm gonna play next season. I'm obviously not going to keep the Halflings. We're only six weeks in, and I gotta say, the joke is starting to run a little dry for me. I still have fun playing my games, but it's getting harder to get "up" for games as we go along. Plus, I'm getting zero SSP (Mercs have gotten MVP several times) so the gap is just widening.

I probably won't bring back the Blackrock Berserkers. We have another person doing CD this season, and I really feel I was screwing up the progression of the team. I got too reliant on the Bull Centaurs to do everything for me. Which worked early in the season (as evidenced by my decent ranking) but once people figured that out and leveled to match them, along with my life starting to unravel, I fell off the rankings badly.

But I do know I want to play a team that hasn't been all thatfeatured in the league so far so I can have a kind of "gimmick" to the team. I dig that about my Halflings, I may be 0-0-6 now (...or whatever it is), but we're The Halfling Team.

I haven't paid as much attention to what teams have been used the most like others, but I'm honestly leaning towards Khemri right now. I don't know of anyone whose used them, and while they're exclusively a bashy team they aren't bad at it. But on the flipside, I've noticed I have a tendency towards dodging. So maybe I should go with a bashy-dodgey team? I dunno. :(

I have a khemri team "Low Fat & No Sugar" on Naggaroth. 2-1-0 with them and they are kinda neat - but also definitely a HC team. Tomb guardians can die any second thanks to 'decay' and although not too expensive (100k), they are pain in the ass to lvl up (no mighty blow).

Blitz-ra are the worst blitzers in the game and still cost 90k. You can have two of them and they are the only players with block.

As the whole team team has AG2, good luck picking up any ball that is marked by opponent. Throw-ra have ag2 + surehands so thats 75% chance to pick up the ball, when someone is not marking it. If the ball is in opponents cage, well thats it then.

Also the team is slooooooooooooooooooow. throw-ra and blitz-ra have MV6 (that is 4 positionals), skellies mv5 and TG mv4.

Ive succeeded at dodging few times, but that is 50%...so its a way to waste all the rerolls if you feel like you have too many.

All-in-all, i feel the Khemri are most grindy team in whole game, yet are definitely NOT the best team in game to do that strategy. Dwarves, orcs, chaos dwarves and chaos are way more reliable at that.

I must admit ive considered if i should go for khemri on third season (if i am bored with the vamps, no idea yet), but well, the grindy no-dodge, no-pass gamestyle can get "abit" tedious eventually i guess... Then again if i happen to freeze the vamps, i might just as well go with the High elves. or something else ;)

-> but if you want to learn how to grind, Khemri are you team - as thats the only way they can play :)

---------

For a bit more flexibility and reliability id recommend you try Orcs (0 teams so far) or the vanilla Undead (0 teams so far).

They both have lots of str, better mobility, more skills and more AV than the khemri. Both can do slow grind or even a bit speedier game (undead with ghouls).
I have to cancel both planed matches for today (the fungame against pogo and my regular league-match) b/c of work.

Good advice, thanks Iippo. Orcs wouldn't be a bad team. After Halflings, I feel I wanna play a team with a chance of doing something (ANYTHING).

Maybe I'll throw together test teams and see about joining our second GOG League for play matches. If anything, I feel like playing Halflings is making me a worse player. Nothing ever works but just blindly throwing myself out there in fools errands and praying to the RNG.
The Khemri Linemen are not killed that easy, because Decay does not work like its supposed to ^^

linos dont have decay, only tomb guardians. and i have seen them off the pitch with 2 injuries so i wouldnt tempt nuffle :)
The Armored Seagulls and Red Lantern square off Saturday at 12pm Pacific and 10pm GMT +3.

This should be an interesting match. I hope my humans channel the dodginess of the elves and not their fragility.

If you ever need someone to do some test matches with, feel free to hit me up on Steam. I'd be glad to play a few games with ya to find those teams that work. :)
