I love you GOG .... mostly.
And I don't mind getting a reasonable number of emails/newsletters from you, but now things are really bordering on a spam like abuse to my inbox. I get quite a bit of email, so a few less unnecessary ones would be nice.

For a while now, you having been doubling up on the same email sent at roughly the same time, but the latest annoyance is four of the same email sent at the same time, and that's just silly.

This I agree with. I don't mind getting emails for marketing and such, but the sheer volume and for example the crazily obnoxious icons etc in the titles are getting a bit tiresome.

Can you be a little more subtle and more, I dunno, professional with your marketing emails?

I can't speak for Timboli, but I don't mind getting emails. But there's a limit to how much and how often before it becomes less useful and more a pain in the ass.

So, no, I don't want to unsubscribe. I would like to see GOG restrain itself just a tad though.
I never get many GOG emails. Is this maybe bug?

Did you not understand where I am coming from?

And I very clearly wrote the following.

And I don't mind getting a reasonable number of emails/newsletters from you

This is not about getting GOG emails, it is about getting unnecessary multiple copies of the same email.

Timboli: multiple copies of the same email.
Has this been a constant thing for you though? I wonder whether there's a hiccup in their database and you've been added multiple times to the list.

I know I've had issues still receiving emails to my old email account even though I changed it years ago. Clearly GOG's marketing email system is a tad buggy.

So far it seems to be only those I listed, at least recently.

I'm not getting multiple copies of the many others I get from GOG, which would likely be the case if I was listed more than once.

What I have gotten so far is more annoying than onerous, and not knowing if it will stop or continue, I thought it best to at least say something and confirm it is happening to others.

I could even complain about the emails for games I have only just put on my Wishlist, but as silly as they are, I am not.

Eh. Maybe it's the email server bugging out and it's just affected you (or a small subset of users on their list). I know I've just realised I've been hit with a bug of my own: I'm subscribed to their emails but never received a survey link.

Then again, the surveys might only have only been issued to those who purchased during the Winter Sale *shrug*. Oh, well.

It may indeed be a bug.

The invite to do the survey is couched at me being a great customer and so they would like to hear my view on things. So it may be down to the number of games I have bought at GOG or those in recent times ... or like you say, the current sale ... though I have only bought 8 games in total during December, some no doubt before the sale. Added to that I have grabbed a few demos and all the free stuff I didn't have.

I don't know how much attention GOG employees pay to posts in the forum, where I both praise and defend GOG, while also not shying away from their failures and flaws etc ... like this thread. Maybe they consider me a balanced reviewer, or the fact that I do often try to be helpful to others. Perhaps I have spent enough over time, that they want me to feel like my opinion really matters. Who knows really. Certainly the survey was a data gathering exercise with many of the questions, gauging what type of customer I am ... my gaming habits etc. One of the questions was about how much I spend on GOG games a month, which I worked out the average of for roughly $5,500 AUD over 68 months, which was around $80 AUD. Many months are much less than that though, with the odd big month.

Its email issue is one of these that do need solving.

I personally stay for my interests and the interests of my specific group 1st, if GOG partly happen to align with the path, I may say something for, if it did not, I will not be silent. I don't know if GOG reads it or not, frankly I don't mind anymore, the lack of results in solving the issues that are highlighted by me in other posts (including critical exploits in GOG Galaxy, for instance) does tell if it reads, it prefers to be mainly ignorant (at least to my issues). I saw too much messed-up stuff to hold a particularly high opinion of it, and I have no hope it'll ever be fixed properly.

This does not mean GOG has no good stuff, it does have. All what it means is I've no illusions on it being "perfect."

Maybe. Otherwise I would suggest to disable its email-based 2FA, use a separate email address just for GOG and never open it.

I've unsubscribed multiple times and i get those stupid emails still.
Or how about shunting things that would be considered important like customer feedback forms into things which aren't considered important (Email Subscriptions.)
There's even an internal notification system that could announce to all customers or at least, active users of things like surveys, here's a cool free game at the end if you do it. (5.99 value, your pick.)
See new chat messages, friend invites, as well as important announcements and deals relevant to you.
