It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Magnitus: It's a tangential concern to the problem outlined, but something I use to mitigate 'aggressive' services that email a lot are email filters.
Filtering is great, but I tend to do it manually, unless maybe I an forwarding from say my Gmail account to my Thunderbird one, which was automated, until Google made that painful for me, which supposedly I can fix, but failed with my first few attempts.
If you use an email provider, just mark the duplicate emails as spam.

Surely with the GOG email titles as they are and the emails filled with external images and nothing else it wouldn't take much to push the spam score over the threshold and into your spam folder.

I don't have a spam folder, everything sent to me comes to me as is, except I preview it first direct on my ISP server with nPopUK, and just delete anything I don't want or is suspicious. I guess I have a Saved folder in nPopUK, for those I might like to keep a record of, but that just keeps the header and text, nothing else.

If GOG doesn't eventually solve this issue, then I may just use nPopUK to delete any duplicates, or just delete them after downloading to Thunderbird. I would like it to be solved though, and I am a bit wary of making a presumption that what appears to be a duplicate, going by title only, is actually a duplicate. Sometimes an error is realized after sending an email, which is then corrected and the email sent again.
Gawd. Now it has gotten even more ridiculous, with five copies of the FINAL COUNTDOWN email. They all came through in the same minute, and each is a slightly different file size.

Oh? Final countdown?
And now a fellow countryman has received 15 duplicate emails -

It is only a guess mind you, but what I suspect is happening, is that GOG send out an email, and the system waits for a response. If that response doesn't happen within a certain time frame, it sends the email again, and again etc until it gets a response. So as this issue only appears to be happening to some customers in Australia, I am guessing there is a slow response related to whatever ISP(s) in AUS are involved. Maybe some congestion in the network, though it only appears to be for certain types of email from GOG, so maybe some aspect of those is causing a slow response.

They love you folks more than us!! :(

Jokes asides jumping in to add that this isn't happening to me and my ISP generally sucks on these things.

Hope you folks get it sorted soon!

If only. :)

8.

8 copies of the same discount voucher today.
@ReynardFox

That did not happen to me, but I did get 3 of the SAVE BIG email, and continue to get multiple same emails, if usually only two of the same.
I stopped getting e-mails for discounts a couple weeks ago. My other gog account gets them though.

So please stop hogging them all. :p

Based on your user icon, is it safe to assume you did try the duct tape first thing, right? :D

Lucky you, and sorry, but you don't live in the right country. :P

I'm still working on a duct tape solution, but are having trouble sourcing the right cog (gog) parts, and Harold is off doing something that only makes sense to him. ;)
Tbh, there are much worse abusers than GOG...
Of course, but I had to get their attention without needing to use the bot, and this should be something that is easily fixed ... no-one else is sending me multiple copies of the same email and never have. It is also not just happening to me, but does appear to be just to some customers based in Australia, perhaps in the same section of the country or same ISP.

I simply don't understand why it isn't easily fixable, especially as it wasn't happening for me with GOG up until a few months ago. Clearly something has changed, and it has to be related to something GOG do with their emails. So while it continues it is an abuse ... they know about it and haven't pulled out all the stops to fix it. Sure, they have asked me about the email header, which I provided, but haven't engaged me in any testing, and I presume not done that with any other. To be fair to them, Xmas season is a busy time of year, and that has likely played a part, so maybe they address it properly in coming weeks.
I still wonder whether all the people who get "spammed" by GOG have something in common...and if so - what...

I mean - I never get more than one, maybe two (different!) emails/week from GOG.

The last three emails I got were:
- a discount code (received last week?)
- a news to the ongoing sale(s) (this week)
- a reminder that the discount is only valid for another 24 hours (this week)

And all those emails were sent to me just once.
