So what's with that Portugal team star (Christiano Ronaldinho or whatever, there are so many Ronald McDonalds in the national soccer teams that I always get them mixed up) refusing to shake hands with the Iceland team players because Portugal didn't win and the match was a tie?

I think Portugal should be ousted from Europe for that!

The soccer here is much lower quality here compared to the premier league or higher level leagues in europe. I watch those games when I can. High level play is entertaining, not the stuff you get in the U.S.

Once Aug/Sep rolls around, it's football season. Every Fri (high school), Sat (college), and Sun (pro) filled with nothing but football until Jan.

I can enjoy watching a good soccer match (I can't call it football even though the rest of the world does) and I don't care about low scoring or ties in regular season competition but I can't take a sport seriously that decides championships with shootouts. Really? It's like a basketball championship being decided by a free throw shooting contest. You play until someone scores. Period. If you're going to have a shootout, you might as well save some time and just have a coin flip decide who wins.
