No, money saved is just money spent elsewhere ;)
I don't think Sony will leave GOG players with unfinished story and eventually Ragnarok will be available DRM-Free, without PSN account requirement. I would expect a GOG release in 2026-2028.
I initially parsed the topic title as "God of War Redneck is coming to PC". Now I want this game to exist.
EDIT: Removed a redundant, repetitive word.

Days Gone and I think Horizon Zero Dawn before that had its data collection functionality deactivated some time post-release too. Sony might not go through with or shortly after release walk back on the mandatory account linking anyway, if the Ragnarök PC version receives too many negative reviews/ratings.

If serves as a hope sign, apparently Ghost of Tsushima is DRM Free on EGS.
There's also the mark of the Sweet Baby which is going to put Ragnarök on several DEI/ESG-Detected black lists the moment it gets released. And there's no way to wash off that stink.

If we do get Ghost and/or GoW Ragnarok on GOG...
1. I guess at the very worst if Sony's GOG-porters get lazy, we get GOG-version without MP support and/or without Achievement support.
2. Or at best on GOG-port, we get it w/ Galaxy support for Achievements and MP.
I am curious as to why Sony is not tapping into the retro market and releasing their older titles on PC. I think original GOWs or even Infamous would sell pretty well. Personally, I would love a Socom Collection Remaster with full MP support on PC. But I feel modern Sony is incapable of pulling that off correctly.

Sony or Playstation rather might just be too concerned about their public image as the developer/publisher of high-profile and graphically impressive interactive experiences on console to let some old-ass and dated-looking PC games from the Psygnosis catalogue potentially put a dent in it.

Of course there's ways around that, like reviving the Psygnosis brand or establish a completely new publishing arm called something along the lines of "Nothing-To-Do-With-Playstation-In-Any-Way-Shape-Or-Form Publishing" (to make absolutely sure Playstation's reputation remains pristine and unspoiled) for re-releasing the Psygnosis PC back catalogue through GoG (who surely would jump at the opportunity to do all the heavy lifting for Sony/Playstation) but I reckon even this would be seen as not worth even that little bit of effort or, again, as still too dangerous (by association) for the premium Playstation brand.

...and you forgot to mention the fact that it also will contain spyware just like all of the other Sony games that are on GOG...and therefore, who cares if it doesn't come to GOG? Spyware-infested games should not be welcome on GOG anyway.

In fact, GOG should delist all of the spyware-infested games that are already on GOG, starting with the Sony ones.

That's incorrect. No, they didn't. Their spyware is still there, and it's still actively spying on the customers who install and/or play those games.

I care. Blocking a program is less than 5 clicks away in your firewall if simple telemetry bothers you that much. So long as the game works offline - I'm good.

Not deactivated in the sense that's it's been removed altogether but rather changed to be switchable.
Meaning you have to manually opt out of the data collection, but that's literally just a couple of mouse clicks.
