Here is a poem I just wrote.

Too often, we are stuck feeling bitter
about the past or thinking about the future.
We are either holding regrets or worries.
Making us weak with anger and furies.
But the truth is, there is only now.
Make this moment count,
by taking promise or making vow.
What’s happened has passed
and future is uncertain.
But what you do right now will tell you
what life will be when time will rise the curtain.
Be happy now. Because it's not a destination.
It's name of a journey with lots of station.
Who are you? What do you really stand for?
Look to your values, they will be your mentor.
Begin by loving yourself. Know your true worth.
Self love allows you to love others.
Live your purpose. Shine bright like a star.
In the dark, even when far.
Make time to experience wonderful situations
that light you up. Fill you with joy and expression.
Why do we live? What does one life matter?
It won't make any difference and it doesn't matter.
If we are not trying to make it any better.
To vie for human brotherhood,
Let's live for the others for the greater good.

Well he did say this was going to be a long running giveaway.
Would it be ironic if he/she had passed away considering the giveaway's premise?

I suppose one life doesn't matter until it's been lived.
Most lives won't matter in the grand scheme of things, but they matter in the smaller personal scheme.

Wow, this giveaway started way before I even registered on gog.com!

What does one life matter? That depends entirely on how that life is affecting other lives.

Glad you're alive @ISC in answer to your riddle it can mean everything to one person to where they can't cope without that person and nothing to another or anywhere inbetween.
