What he bought from Sears was the house, it came to them in iowa, in pieces, and he put it together on the farmland that they had bought or been given, I'm not sure of the details of that... Sears used to be like Amazon, the biggest game in town if you wanted to buy... anything... and you really could buy almost anything from them. Now that I think about it, they were also a lot like Ikea, since he had to build the thing from instructions, on his own (or I assume, with other people helping, but I was never clear on the details.)

Actually it was a citadel/palace where the lord of the land used to abide. There are large gardens inside as well, all enclosed by its own ramparts and towers. It was open all day and visitors could free roam. The restrictions were less than those nowadays, and also they were easier to bypass by determined children.

It was said that there were tunnels, but few people knew the truth of it. At least one that led to the nearby temple (which has its own rich history as well), used mostly to attend discreetly. The other one was supossed to go towards the river, in order to possibly complement the water from the wells inside the citadel, and also to allow for discreet exits. It was said also that more tunnels for other discreet exits could exist. This happened to be true.

Do you remember the long summers of childhood? That summer we were feeling curious about the place and getting to know its nooks and hidden spaces. I think that we were lucky since the wood structures that completely blocked the access to a part of the palace portion of the citadel were removed. That allowed for exploration. Maybe in winter the tunnels could have been damp, but in summer they were just cool and actually comfortable. It was very nice to find the truth behind the legend. However, it became apparent that the reason for removing the wooden structures (think wooden walls) was that they were going to block the entrance to the tunnels with brick and mortar., as the works started some weeks later after our discovery. By the end of the summer, no one could ever enter those tunnels anymore, and people would not even figure out where the entrances actually were (they did a good job). I guess that the famous tunnels slipped back into the realm of legend again.

Grill party at riverside. Grill is so good especially if you can enjoy the landscape with family.

I have a good memory from my childhood, when I went to the cyber café with my friends, we spend all our allowance in one day playing Sven Co-op, we finished almost all the maps availables, my mother beat up my ass when I arrived hope for being absent all day without and spend all my money, but it worth it XD

As for good recent memory:
There were some uncertainties in our family related to health conditions in recent times. Thank god everything is good now. Being able to have a nice walk in nice weather after uncertain times was really a happy moment for us. Currently we're in strict lockdown :)

Yes, the one and only Sven. Also played the two you mentioned, both are great games, specially They Hunger, also recently played Half Life Echoes, a short but sweet expansion-like mod. Another game I play all the time in that era was Quake 3 Arena, and Call of Duty, I spent all my money in the cyber XD
In that time was an avid players of multiplayers now I barely touch any MP game! :(

The most exciting thing I can remember from my childhood is my first time going to a movie theater. It was on Sunday afternoon and I went with my dad. We had caramel popcorn and pepsi, it was a luxury for a child, like many other fast food at that time. I think I enjoyed the food more than the movie.

And the first widescreen movie that I saw, was........... CAPTAIN AMERICA.
But not the one released in 2011, it was THIS ONE! The Original Captain America, or so I thought (I prefer Chris Evans.)

I used to do the same thing long ago with family...such fun times :)
(of course after awhile we started bringing our own snacks, as the theater had limited selection & was pricey[back then it was like 4 US dollars for a large soda and the same for popcorn....it's likely much more now])

One of my memories is going to see the film Galaxy Quest on release day(Dec 24th) as a young lad.....it was snowing and my parents didn't want to drive me at first but eventually they gave in(and i'm glad they did as it's one of my most cherished memories of the cinema).

Sidenote to all:

I vaguely remember that movie. The theaters were giving out trading cards. I remember feeling excited and disappointed. Maybe because the classic Red Skull only had a short screen time.
