The moment I'd like to share was when I was eating tomato soup with my grandma. I was probably like 4(?) years old but I still remember it over that many years. :)

When I was little, I spent my school breaks with my grandparents surrounded by nature, animals, playing in the mud and didn't care about covid or anything else.Good old days.

I have a lot of good childhood memories but one that recently stood out was about this big dinosaur book. It's like twice or thrice the size of a regular book. I kept on borrowing it from the school library so my brother and I can read it again and again. Now, my brother found out that it's still being published and wants to buy a copy. Still looking for a way to purchase it locally since the shipping costs way more than the book.

That was the life in our corner of the world, wasn't it? I miss those times.

A good memory was last summer I volunteered my summer to work at a summer camp, I met so many good friends and had so many good times. I'm going to do it next year ofc it is on other side of country (I moved so it's far) so I will have to buy a plane ticket to work for free, but hey I get a scholarship with the volunteered hours.

I am not in for the copy of the game "Shadow Man". I have played it on the Nintendo 64 in the past and I prefered the more colorful Tomb Raider titles. ;)

- One of my good memories/moments over the last 1-2 years:
Shortly after the start of the pandemic last year, I discovered online platforms for playing boardgames with your relatives and friends via internet. During my unvoluntary holidays, I made good use of one of those (in particular the boardgamearena) together with my brother. We used to play boardgames and tabletop games while we still lived with my parents. Almost two decades later, each of us lives literally on the opposite side of the globe, but had again a lot of fun playing some old favorites together and with friends online, as well as discovering some (at least for us) new gems in the world of boardgames! After recovering from a serious health issue - and yes, there are still other health problems than the ongoing pandemic - we joined for another online boardgame session ang chatted via video conference. "What a blast from the past", re-experiencing something surprisingly close to the memories of our younger selves!
Disregarding the pandemic, I still would go with the physical boardgames, if I have the choice. But some of those online platforms offer a great variety of games you might not know, yet, and a cheaper entrance to give them a try! And with the current circumstances, there is rarely a doubt about their benefits.

Although, my first entry somewhat refers to the past, here is a very special memory of my childhood:
As kids, three of us put all of our pocket allowance together to buy us a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It was the set which comes with the four-player-adapter and four controllers, including the combi-cartridge of "Super Mario Bros.", "Tetris" and "Nintendo World Cup". The next three game(s) we "bought" were actually paid by our parents, since we spent everything on the console system itself. One of these games was "Chip & Chap Rescue Rangers" ("Chip 'n Dale" on the other side of the Atlantic), another "Digger T'Rock: The Search for the Lost City". Until today, I have not been able to finish the latter. Nonetheless, both of them remained two of my favorite games of all times - both gameplay-wise and regarding their atmosphere. And I still like their ease of play (just "pulg-in and play", within some seconds you are actually playing them) and their overall pacing.)
Recently, I played casually through "Chip & Chap" again. And it did not lost any of its charm to me.
I even took it as an inspiration for one of my entries in the Draw and guess the game thread.

I also remember the arcades.....which were more fun when the machines worked, but still pretty fun usually.....well back before I got my mental issues, that is. Now I cannot go out much, even if I wanted to.

But oh well, I still have PC gaming and etc, and the memories. Btw thanks for sharing with us. :D

I try when I can....in large part to give back for all the good(contests and nice words/threads) others give to the forums, and also because it's fun to share memories and etc with my fellow goggers.

Well those count too, I would think....that said, sorry to hear that you seem to have had a run of bad luck as of late.

As said to another gogger earlier, those memories and time with loved ones is something to cherish. I often wish i'd spent more time with some before they passed, but what's done is done, and I at least still have the memories I do of time spent with them. :)

Candy stores and video stores(blockbuster, hollywood video, etc) ftw....they were some fun places to go to when I was younger as well.

And my elder relatives also used to share tales with me and other family members...fun times. :)

I had similar books I would check out of the local libraries....CYOA books and the like. They were always fun to read....even if i'd already read them a few years prior.

I always wanted to go to camp as a kid.....but never got around too it(too poor, and also a tad too shy around others when I was younger).

Oh well, at least I can watch shows and films about camp life and live vicariously through that. :D

(also sorry to hear you were sick....I hope you have gotten better and your health stays decent enough) I also had to ask parents to buy me a game for a new console I received long ago, as the console itself took all my savings. I had to work the debt off with more chores, but it was worth it.

It's nice to see/hear about a fellow gogger letting creativity inspire them in such ways. Also thanks for sharing it with us here as well.

Yes, such things are partly why I make the contests as I do...with some thinking and/or creativity required....it often makes them more fun for all involved. :)

Family times playing Ticket to Ride and other board games are always a lot of fun.

From my childhood--sitting around the table or living room at my grandparents house listening to the stories being swapped was always a highlight of any trip to see them. One motel where we went on vacation the owner was a lot of fun, always joking around, and when we were trying to pack up the vastly overloaded car prior to leaving, the man came by and hollered good-naturedly "you've got so much room left, do you want a free microwave?"
