bler144: Not at all. When I was first joining the forums, for me GA threads were the easiest to engage in. Very little politics, you don't really have to know who's who, you can just comment on someone's generosity and wish others luck.

As you've done.

Making small talk, perhaps, but on topic, and that's how community starts. Just my opinion. [but you got a +1 from me]

kusumahendra: It's not a useless post :)
As Bler144 said, giveaway thread is one of easiest place to hold conversation. My most active post is in GA steam edition, and I usually either asking for games, recommending a game, or just small talk. I find it hard to do conversation anywhere but when we are talking about same interest. My successful conversation I had is usually when talking about my favorite games that other people also find it good.

As you see I was hesitating when entering this GA, but I do know that when someone hold a GA, he/she hopes many participants will enter. So I enter in hope other people will follow and we can have a fun Giveaway thread.

BTW, Congrats for the Lady!
Thank you guys, this is a nice sort of "welcome" :-)

Let's hope more people enter the GA, but you know, maybe the "problem" is that almost everybody around here already owns these classics? GOGers who haven't played the classic RPG's, all of them at the top of the bestselling games list, where BG and IWD belonged before being removed... It almost sounds kind of mandatory to me, and I feel like a rare bird :-D

On the other hand, there are so many games I wish I could erase from memory, and then experience again for the first time and be surprised by them, as when I was a teenager... In this regard I feel lucky that for some years I was disconnected from the PC gaming scene, and now I can play the games everybody in retrospect agrees to be the very best. Probably some classic players would switch places with us "new" players, and start again these games without knowing what to expect exactly, but knowing it's going to be something great.

I for sure would switch places with somebody who has never played any Lucasarts classics.
Update: omega64 has donated another set of three codes, so now each game is available twice. Updated the OP. Please +1 omega64.

It is very nice of you to celebrate with an nice giveaway! Thank you. That is quite generous.
However, I already own all those games, and therefore I'm not in.

Also, special thanks to omega64 for kindly joining the party!
Thanks omega64. What a way to spice up the party :)

yw. Glad to have you aboard.

It's a combination of things. I only own one of the 3, personally, but played/completed *and quite enjoyed) them all when they were released. I distinctly remember playing IWD, as it was one of the first games I played after moving out here to the west coast. Anyway, there are folks like me who would rather people who never played them get first dibs.

There's also been a recent wave of copies as (as you probably know) the developer provided free 'classic' copies to owners of the new enhanced editions. The EE owners, without having to think about it too much, passed a lot of those copies on, so a lot of people hankering for a copy have been able to get one in other GAs even if they didn't pick them up in a sale themselves.

Likewise, mrkgnao and omega64 are always exceedingly generous and one wishes to not take advantage of or take that for granted ;)

Am I?
I don't think giving away keys I'll never use is all too noteworthy. :P

Well, it's still hard earned money so I think it's noteworthy
Congrats. Count me in!

I have to agree with bler144 and kusumahendra. A lot of folks would choose to hold on to their keys for trade purposes rather than donate them as give-away prizes. It's really not that common anymore to see such generous people on a gaming forum. Even on GOG I've noticed there's been a lot more negativity in the give-away threads due to the increase in scammers and trolls.

So anyways... I guess I just wanted to express my thanks! :D

For me, give-away threads are always a fun place to lurk. They really help me build my interest for a game before I ever play it.

Wow!... Ok, if this is the case I don't feel that bad joining in. Please count me in for IWD only.

At the current rate of donors and entrants there might be even no need to randomize anything :-D.

Thanks a lot to akhliber, omega64 and of course mrkgnao. You're truly generous. I haven't seen this before in any other community :)
Thanks to all of the donators for these games, +1 for everyone!

I'm in for Baldur's Gate 1 and Icewind Dale Complete, since it would be weird to get BG2 without owning BG1.
I read through the thread and collected all the entrants so far and what games each is in for.

Here is the list:
- Kusumahendra – IWD
- astroclay – BG2, IWD
- mike_cesara – BG, BG2, IWD
- Kleetus – BG, BG2, IWD
- Ciapcian – BG, BG2, IWD
- RoloTony – BG, BG2
- actapb – BG, BG2, IWD
- nepundo – IWD
- HyperSuplex - BG, IWD

Please correct me if you spot a mistake.

The giveaway will end in about 30 hours.

I would like to be in for BG or IWD as someone else mentioned I would want BG before I get BG2, and I won IWDII a while ago but have never played it because I want to complete IWD first ;)

Thank you and thanks to all donaters as well.
