Can we expect that anything that turns up here will be disabled from gifting? That's the current trend I notice. It looks like because of some people abusing stolen cards or regional stuff, the rest won't be able to gift stuff anymore.

stg83: Gifting temporarily unavailable for just about 4 months,
Yup. Temporarily. Until the web development team finds a solution to prevent purchases with stolen cards. Be prepared for some Steam-like security measures... In two years or so, when the web dev team found out how to do this -.-
disabling credit cards sounds good if that is the problem

Not everything... Many things in the g2a list (e.g. Dont' Starve, Kingdom Rush and other indie/older games) aren't restricted... Maybe only the most well-known are restricted...

Disabling credit cards would disable their business. The vast majority of their sales are via some kind of credit/debit card; those get disabled, they can't sell much of anything.
lol i guess gog has to readjust constantly because realities of the market
There has to be a better solution to fraud (assuming that's what the problem is) than simply prohibiting gifting of high priced games. I love gifting my friends games come the holidays and this makes that a problem, especially now as they're actually starting to use GOG over Steam in some cases.
I wonder when we will get to the point where you have to go to their office personally to buy something :D

Not with cash of course, as the bills could be counterfeit, you have to spend 5 hours cleaning their pool table.
So the (fix in progress) was to add even more games to being blocked for gifting. I am impressed.

That's just as bad as what they are already doing, disabling gifting entirely. They need to beef up their security and processing of credit cards, not work around them.

but if it's found that the gift codes are bought from resellers and scammers, there's really little that can do about it.

Destro: Regional pricing has nothing to do with these fraudulent transactions - as a matter of fact, all the purchases in question were done at the highest price possible, not the lowest.
Hey Destro, so the temporary gift locking has been removed for the other games as per the introduction of the fraud protection.

But gifting for the Witcher 3 is still disabled which was supposed to be temporary as well. Is this a bug or is there a particular reason why TW3 gifting is still restricted? Doesn't GOG trust the anti-fraud measure to be effective in this particular case?

Seconded. I would like to give this game to a friend (who is currently playing Witcher 2 the second time), and I want to do it before the discount ends.
Still waiting for a response regarding the temporary gift lock for The Witcher 3 which has been removed for all the other games after the fraud protection measures.

A response regarding this from any of the GOG staff would be really appreciated as its not nice to string some people along with false hope that are still waiting to buy the Witcher 3 as a gift during the promo which is for a limited time.
