i'm very interested if this fradulent purchases happened before or after the announcement of the season pass?
The hell is that? There are GIVEAWAYS open containing one or more of these!

Regional pricing?

Or

Steam wannabe-ism?

Damn. I knew that the first step towards disappointment was the season pass announcement. All hell will break loose!

I believe those fraudulent whatever and whatnot, are honestly, AFTER the season pass announcement! Damn, what a letdown...

Or

You actually disabled gifting, because we are still in the preorder and you want to prohibit people getting the exclusives for free, forcing them to BUY the package instead? Or getting it at a later date WITHOUT exclusives.

I am very, very, VERY disappointed. Thing reeks of cheese and rotten tomatoes.

Preorders, exclusives and season passes are always fishy and bad-ending, on WHICHEVER the service they run in, damn! Those HORRIBLE and HIDEOUS practices should meet a swift and abrupt end.

Coelocanth: This has no effect on previously gifted copies, I assume? I gifted a copy in a giveaway a few weeks ago.

Grargar: This only affects purchases. See picture below.
Thanks for this information. So just to clarify for peace of mind, if I've redeemed the GTX970 offer, and received my game bundle code from from Gigabyte and used it at G.O.G, I'm totally unaffected by this issue and will be able to download the game next week?

You can preload it now!
Aaah, magic! First time I've got a game off G.O.G so wasn't totally familiar with everything.

I've noticed the first file is an EXE and the rest are bins.

Once I've downloaded all the files, do I just hit the EXE and it will go from there?

Yes. Just make sure they are in the same folder and haven't been renamed.

Essentially yes, but do note that some of the files will become available during the release date.
I purchased a key on G2A dot com and can't redeem it here. It says "temporarily locked". I'm assuming this is part of this same issue?

Exactly when can I expect to play the game I just legally purchased? Unreal.

For the record the game is twice the price if I pay for it on the New Zealand store, so it's a no-brainer buying elsewhere.

ask support, in worst case gog staff deactivated it. then you'll have to try to get a refund from g2a or a chargeback

morbandit:
I remember that "Temporarily locked" comes up for example when two people in the same time try to redeem (or at least check the validity) of a key. But if it's a permanent issue, you should probably ask for a refund. Honestly G2A doesn't seems like a trustworty source of games. From what i know they are intermediaries between users, and thus you can get nasty surprises sometimes.

Thanks guys. Turned out it was because I was accessing G2A's key redemption page in Chrome. Only works in Internet Explorer. Great.
Omg really? Still fixing?? I've downloaded it and still cant click the 'play'

Ciris: Due to a very large number of fraudulent transactions coming in, we have had to disable the gifting option for three items: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Expansion Pass, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game + Expansion Pass.

We are working to clarify the problem and prevent further fraudulent transactions from being made.

We will make gifting possible once more as soon as this issue is resolved.
Could you please explain if the gifting restrictions that have been implemented today are also thanks to fraudulent transactions? Several, high-priced games (like Divinity: Original Sin, Metro 2033 Redux, Pillars of Eternity, Victor Vran, Wasteland 2) can no longer be gifted.

I am glad I got them (well most of them. I still don't have PoE and Vicor Vran) before this.
Gifting temporarily unavailable for just about 4 months, It was only a matter of time until gifting for more games became restricted as well since GOG had this system in place for CDPR's TW3 they were bound to accommodate other publishers as well. Another case of the diminishing returns as GOG continues to get Bigger and Better.
