So, I have a free copy of Witcher that I can only gift as I already own a copy. I want to gift this to a friend, but when I get to the checkout to send to my friend, the purchase option does not become possible to click. I'd really like to gift this to my friend, who has never touched the series yet. Help please?
This question / problem has been solved by RWarehallimage
Just choose 'Gift This Order' at the checkout then send the game to ur email. U'll get a code for the game so just copy it to ur fren to redeem. Do note ur fren needs a GOG account 1st. ;)

I'm a bit confused. You are saying you already have a free copy of The Witcher correct? If yes, then you should have gotten an email with a giftcode that you can send to your friend. Alternatively most giftcodes you have can be seen in your Orders&Settings overview. Just copy the giftcode and send it to your friend.
If you have no free copy and want to buy a giftcode for the game, then you need to check the "Gift this Order" box and either enter the email-address of your friend directly or your own to get a code that you can then send to your friend.

Look in your account under 'Orders&Settings'. There will you see a list of all purchases you have made, including the codes associated with games that were bought as gifts. If you have bought too many games to scroll through, just uncheck everything but 'Unredeemed Gifts' - and there you are. Then you just copy the Gift Code and send it to your friend via PM or e-mail.
(S)he can then redeem it under 'Redeem Code' on the lower left side of the GOG website.
When I attempt to purchase the Witcher in the GOG store, it is marked at a 100% discount, and since I own a copy it states I can only gift it. When I attempt to enter an email(mine or my friends), the 'purchase' button or what have you cannot be clicked.

If it were as simple as clicking 'gift this', I'd not need to ask for help. It is being obscure.

Thanks in advance.
I dunno how u see it as 100% discount but it's showng $9.99 to me. Since u think we r not helping i suggest u write in to Support then.

I just put a copy of Witcher in my cart and yeah as soon as I go to the checkout it shows as free (not sure why, but well...).
But as soon as I put in an email address the purchase button becomes active and I could click it (see image I attached). Are you sure you put in a valid email address?

Well, unless the email I used to register this account isn't valid... it doesn't become active for me.

Maybe the FREE Witcher has something to do with the fact that there was no staff pick today? As in a potential sale?

EDIT: Hmm, does not show as free, when I put it in the cart as a gift.

Probably from the GWENT beta. You get one free Witcher gift code from that if you haven't activated it yet...

Yes. That's how I got it. I just don't know how to do anything with it, apparently. I owned the Witcher long before I got into the Beta, and wanted to gift it to my friend.

Question; can you actually buy anything as a gift at all? Or is the freebie Witcher the only case that prevents you from proceeding?

Did you try selecting a payment option? I know it's free, but it might require that anyway even though it won't use it.

Have you tried leaving the gift code email and comment fields empty and then checking out. I say this because during the GOG Fall Sall I received a free game that was sent to me via game code that was emailed to me.

If you try what I suggest and it works, you should receive a game code in you email from GOG that you can send to your friend. Your friend can then enter the gift code on GOG to have the gamed added to his GOG account.

EDIT: Is the game you are trying to gift titled "WITCHER" or "WITCHER: ENHANCED EDITION, THE". I do not see a game on GOG with the title of "WITCHER". I just want to make sure we are talking about the same game.

EDIT: Is it possible that the gift code expired.

EDIT: If you try to gift it directly to your friend, make sure the friend's email address you enter is the email address your friend used to register with GOG. (If you do not know your email address, this would be a good option)

The title is 'WITCHER: ENHANCED EDITION, THE' to clarify.

I have *NO* code whatsoever to my knowledge. I cannot specify a payment type as it automatically checks 'gift' and tells me since I own a copy I cannot actually finish the checkout as the 'purchase' button does not activate.

I attempted both my email and my friends, neither made the button activate.
