So he doesn't have a dog... Hmmm and here i was thinking of a leash or collar you could get him, or even make one yourself.

You could go to a pet adoption place that has dogs and just have him hang out petting all the puppies for a few hours...

Hmm... How about a poster? I know there's puppy and kitten posters, walmart is a decent place to try, although they tend to go with whatever the movie/current trends are...

Dog/Puppy themed calendar perhaps?
