I do not understand the movie. The original was very well received by audiences. The sequel fell flat. So why attempt to do a remake? I will be skipping this one, among others. I am tired of remakes, reboots, or whatever else they are calling it.

hedwards: I'll see it when it shows up on Netflix and probably won't be able to sit through it, but I'm not optimistic. It looks very much like a movie made for an agenda where the people making it didn't really understand what the source material.

Also, do we really need another black character whose only contribution to the affair is being "street"? Winston was at least a real person meant to be a sort of way in for the rest of us to relate to the goofiness going on.
The thing is - every movie is expecting to have atleast ONE black person in the movie, but this person is always portrayed trough a silly/hysterical/dumb (= modern-street) character. It's like forcing every companies to have atleast ONE woman on the board, no matter what. It doesn't work that way and it only hurts more than it helps. Qualification is more important more than, say, what you look like.

Winston was one of the few characters that was scripted in a way that you actually liked him, and someone you could respect. There are many talented people out there but one has to invest time to find them.

Also, I've nothing against a movie that is all *insert something*, however, I've yet to see a movie that has all the main characters women and still be considered good and had a great chemistry (might be something I've missed now, but still)

That's precisely right. They could have written a better black character that felt like something more than just a token character, but they chose to cast a horrible actress and to not give it good writing.

That's the main reason why so few black actors are being nominated for Oscars, there just aren't as many Oscar-worthy roles being given to them.

Because of money.

I don't think that Ghostbusters 2 was really that bad, I think that if it hadn't been overshadowed by the previous movie that nobody would be hating it the way they do now.

It's sort of like the Doom 3 of the movie world. It's not necessarily bad, but compared with the previous movie it's just not that good.

You know, after the last trailer I really thought that Chris Hemsworth might be this movie's only saving grace. But after seeing this... no. No saving grace to be found anywhere. The jokes are just so bad it's impossible to make them work. This is Disney Channel sitcom level writing. I like Chris Hemsworth. Can someone please save him from the Huntsman and Ghostbusters and terrible Thor/Avengers sequels? Please?

I have to see that Ron Howard Moby Dick movie he was in, and Micheal Mann's Blackhat, but I know neither of those was well received. The guy seems to have bad luck.

They are still marketing this? I guess Sony can afford to bleed some money.

The success of Thor has tainted Chris Hemsworth's career. It'd be nice if he honestly grows out of the action hero mold. But he was in an Expendables movie...so...

You've got the wrong Hemsworth. That was Liam, his younger brother.

There's also an older brother Luke, also an actor. Ironically enough he's the least famous one. Must be a little awkward at family reunions.

Chris is the anti-middle child.

The advert is definitely getting lots of hate ;)

*reads the article* WTF? Who in their right minds watches movies according to random fucking people's likes or dislikes on YT? That makes absolutely no sense. People actually get paid for writing this kind of dumb shit? I guess so.

Still looks like a shit movie.

Here's the part that drew my attention:

"Who hates Adele?!"

As usual, "hate" is way to strong a word, but I really don't like her music, and I don't see why that would be so shocking, and it has nothing to do with her as a person. But sure, it's easier to see a grand misogyny conspiration in everything. The same goes for the trailers. Those are terrible trailers for what looks like a shite movie, based on a beloved movie. There's the solution to the "mistery" of why it's so disliked. But no, no, that's not way to sensible, let's go looking for the misogynist sniper on the grassy knoll.
